In a haste of getting the dogs to stop barking at the mailman, I kicked my pinky toe on the door frame.

Purple and swollen and hurts like a fucker. Thought that it broke but its just been sprained. It's also going to completely mess up my work :grumpy:

about 15 months ago i bought new shoes for playing hoops.
first game wearing them and they've got the ultimate traction. jump stop. socks slide a bit in shoe. toe nails a little long, break big toe nail partway off.
nasty.
took another 2 months for the toenail to actually fall off. it was awful.

toe stuff is the worst. stubbing toes, etc.

So as if 2016 hasn't sucked enough, my wife's sister just got diagnosed with breast cancer. Fantastic.

She's supposed start chemo before getting a lumpectomy. Isn't that the wrong order??

So sorry man.
Not necessarily. They might be worried about the aggression of the cancer.
Sometimes they beat em down before they take em out.
It all depends on what they're dealing with.
There are so many variations on a theme with cancer, it's never "just cancer".

That sucks about work dude. I've broken a lot of things and not realized it until later than I should have, it'll heal surprisingly fast.

I am so fucking sorry, man. My MIL beat that breast cancer a few years ago. She was a champ through all of it but it was plenty scary.

Best wishes to both of you

I hope my power doesn't get shut off tomorrow because those motherfuckers had me on the automated line until just past business hours.
Had to cut my cell phone plan two months ago because T-Mobile decided that I owed them over $600 in just one month so if the power's shut off, that's it.

I have a huge hatred for the electric company. I don't know why I get so salty about it, just seems like they have us by the balls and could at least not be dicks about it.

I really wish I had the money for a solar panels/a generator/a windmill so I wouldn't be totally screwed in the event that I don't manage to pay the bill on time or for general power outage reasons.

Ah, interesting--for some reason I always had it in my head that they chop it out first before anything else.
My brother-in-law's wife went through the same thing earlier this year, but she had lumpectomy-->chemo--> radiation (I think that was the order).

This is the second breast cancer in the family in a year. Different bloodlines, but still...sucks.

Glad your MIL beat it. Always great to hear.

Have you seen this: https://www.tesla.com/solar Tesla is building new shingles that are actually solar panels, and apparently they're not that much more than regular shingles. I want to get that for a replacement roof, plus a couple of the Tesla whole house batteries (https://www.tesla.com/powerwall) and disconnect from the grid.

All I know is the achievable scenario of owning enough solar panels to create enough energy for the electric company to pay me instead of vice versa gives me a diamond cutting erection.

Sorry, just got excited.
