I am good, had to take a almost 5 year long break from playing music. Long story short was that other musicians in the area suck and I was not having any fun, so I said fuck it and sold everything and dropped off the deep end. Six months ago after my second child was born I realized that music was something that was missing from my life. So a large credit card bill later and the blessing from the wife, I have returned and I actually have a desire to create something and not just buy shit and flip it. I really enjoy spending time playing - its way more rewarding than getting own by some neckbeard loard

But I am probably gonna do it, no lies. After all I am a bass player - I have to keep the hurrr durr reputation up.
moof. FEEL you. glad you're back into music, it's good to take breaks to see if it's rote actions or something you miss?

MORE MAPS. ULTIMATE FINAL FORM BREADING PROJECT MAPS.

i.... don't really understand children. can you stack them like Wiggly Flesh Mechas and enhance their powers?

PIIIIIISSSSSSSIIIIIIICCCCCCAAAAAAA) so that's been a recent bout of excitement since having animals in the city is a long road to travel full of many hoops. Doing more band stuff than bleep-and-BWOMM stuff recently. We're in a state of perpetual lockdown and haven't really been anywhere since March, which kinda sucks, but generally things are all right. I sold out and bought a SansAmp because no gigs and no practice space anywhere is safe.

How's things in the Yarea?
oooo FLAT! well look who's assimilated you little crumpet fucker.

.... i mean that in the nicest way possible. possibly one of the best meals i've ever had was a crumpet heavy Afternoon Tea session in London years ago. i would punch a number of people in the FACE for a good lemon curd based nosh.

huh. are pets... like... regulated there?

the Bay Yaaaareaaaaa is doing well! wearing this viral death march with more aplomb then most places. lol. i mean. most places in the UNITED STATES. not compared to the smart countries of the world.

Oh my word sir pets are such a status symbol (Dogs in particular) it's insane.

Here is one good example of an "entirely reasonable requirement".
If you are adopting a cat who will have outside access then your cat must have direct access to a private garden and a catflap in situ, or plans to install one.
Don't have a private garden? Can't install a catflap? Too bad, no cat for you.

Live too close to a busy street? Too bad, no cat for you.

Some of it is reasonable (they don't want to adopt cats to people who are going to abuse them, for example), but they do full on in-person home checks and shit. It's crazy.

Makes sense. People are allergic to cats.

whereas bullets are perfectly safe for most people, except when coming towards you at terminal velocity.... but again, thats probably also true for cats.

I like the sporadic resurrections of this thread, it sparks joy.

Or if you step on them.

One nice thing from TB, incidentally:there was a thread from, like, 2007? that really helped me understand why people count reggae in two pretty distinct ways (basically double time or not) that has stuck with me for 13 years or however long it's been. Super evident in reggae obviously because you have the one drop, as well as the "big emphasis hit" which is either on the 2 or the 3, depending on how you count it.

This thought has been brought to you by listening to a lot of dancehall/reggae recently and going back to counting it in one style or the other, and also because it's popped up in the slower songs for some other projects recently as well.

Sorry for bringing the real music talk to the general chat tho.

I feel this in so many regards to other "bass players" - for example I am having a hard time trying to gel with the crowd over at Scotts Bass Lessons. Way more information in terms of theory, playing and other helpful items. Scott Devine seems like a genuine person but he is more of a figure head. There are a few genuinely cool people hanging around there but the same wanky TB shit is happening over there (how to make my p bass sound like an upright or dose my Fodera make me look fat?)

This is why I love ILF -everyone is chill and if I came in and jammed we could all make some rad noise :omg:
