look I am really very sorry I made that voodoo doll and set it on fire but I heard that at some point somewhere on the web you said something bad about rics…

Dude.. Ric dudes are asses and it is encouraged by Rickenbacker… John Hall posts on the ric forums encouraging his army of god fearing Ric-o-natics to swarm upon you is you say anything against them or build anything that looks like one

sadly I just wish their brand new made basses were any good... also… that thread is too large to read, it has too many words and all of them are a waste of bandwidth

Yeah I bad mouthed a Rickenbacker and pointed out some flaws on their design, then got the Ric army on my case, I don't care much about that but I implored PaulBoyer to elaborate on my inaccuracies (I had a few, not lying) but he broke down my statement but said nothing. I now know I was trying out a 4001C64S but I also have shit taste in my mouth from this. And I'm not going to buy that ass's book, he can eat my ass.
Secondly, the link is too long to go through but yeah; 21 PAGES of of the same three opinions, over and over and over.
Adam Clayton is a shit bassist.
He is a money grabbing whore.
Signature instruments are cash grabs.
I posted this thread because this is what I think talkbass is: (mostly) older men set in their ways, patting each other on the back and attacking any one who is different. The effects section sucks hard, everyone wants to talk about low gain overdrives and maybe compressors and rarely modulation but never how to use effects effectively . The technique side is informative, and the more time I spend lurking in Amps the more I want to try and hear how those 15/6 cabs sounds. I like the idea of different size speakers handling different frequencies.

Sadly, when there is a maelstrom of parroted opinions, trolling takes too much effort. I said my honest piece, some people liked it, but like a dog chasing its own tail, the discussion spun out of control.
