Squatting is illegal in France. You can however freely occupy the public domain as long as it doesn't deprive others of said right (move your tent every once in a while, please) and within the boundaries of public tranquility, safety and health (trashcans and quiet streets at night are for everyone).

There's no legal definition of god. I don't know what abstract antity you chose to worship you are referring to. Legally defining a god or a religious belief is forbidden because churches and politics are separate.
