Just worked a 15-hour shoot day. My lady made me soup, and we're listening to Bill Frisell.

It is as sweet as it sounds/

That's right, it was a 12"!
My mind is way too fried right now - been looking at circuits all day.

So I'm on the trail of a Butcher. $240 is the current price but the dude says that tubes are out, I can replace the tubes with stuff I have, if that does not get it going, what would a fair price for a broken one be? I know they are killer amps, and I may be able to fix it myself, just dont want to be insulting and would like to go into any negotiations with some knowledge in my pocket. Afaik, they dont tend to go bad that often and no common issues?

So, Christian....that mean Whores will be coming down our way soon?

Also, just found out Neurosis will finally be touring down here again.
Congrats to dase, I see Clagg scored the opener down your way. :thumb:
You guys should be opening up here, too.
Just sayin...

Frisell is awesome. Got to see him play live in Ann Arbor with a trio last year, and he just killed it.

So I just realised that after trying to sell my Villanova Vibe for two months, I've actually had a bunch of PM's waiting for me, including one from Sam, which I really sorry for. :( Just to let you know if you're reading this, I have a cash offer that I'm probably going to go with unless you have something for trade that I really want, which you may do since you and I have very similar tastes in pedals. We'll see. Message me wherever, and this time I'll read it. You can also comment on my thread over on the other forum to make sure I see it, because for some reason I receive emails on that but not personal messages.

New Cymbals Day

:!!!: :!!!: :!!!:

Image

Brand new for less than a 3rd of what it would be off of Guitar Center or other big chains. The Saluda bell was brand new from the factory and it only cost 20 bucks plus shipping. The first one I ever got from them I emailed them asking about them and they sent me one for free to try out. I'm gonna check out their other crashed and rides too because they seem to be well made. They also have an insurance program for you other drummers in here that warranties ANY brand for 10 years. If it cracks and the crack is under 1/2" they will replace it with a comparable cymbal for free. I don't know any cymbals that have lasted 10 years in out style of music so I just thought I'd pass it along to you guys. Don't have the paper with the link but I'll post it later if any of you guys want it.

T, they have just said "Very Soon" I think it may just be a matter of shipping at this point.

So anyone have any insight on the butcher situation? I'll be going to check it out after the practice this afternoon.

If all it takes is a new set of tubes $200-240 sounds fair to me. Otherwise $150 at most if something else is wrong, i guess. The JCM800 comparison is apt.

cool, that's pretty much inline with what I'm thinking.

Yeah man knowing the brand/model it's hard to believe something else would be wrong unless he did something really silly to it, but even then it's good enough an amp at the right price it's totally worth getting as a project

$240 for a Butcher is a pretty nice deal. My buddy got his for $300 awhile back. That thing rips too. Loud as dogshit and sounds pretty damn close to a JCM800. He runs a Pharaoh and an EP booster in front of it and it sounds fucking huge.

In good condition I would easily pay $300 for one. Again.

I tried out a 2204 one day a couple weeks ago and though it sounded incredible I was really happy with how close the Butcher's drive sounded to it.
