No back and forths, no one off / one on beat tensions, there's not even any tom work in there.

That's more utilizing two drummers than kylesa does? :wha?:

I remember that band, saw they open up quite a few local shows..... god were they annoying....

This /\ is more the response I was expecting. :thumb:

But I still don't feel that their interaction as two drummers is that far apart from what Kylesa does. It's a matter of style, Phillip wants them to be more subdued to blend in with what they are doing, while the Melvins are more about the noise and the flashy'ness of it IMO. They both spend alot of time mimicing each other, but have the moments of back and forths, finishing beats for each other, and other fun two drummer stuff that Kylesa does as well. Now if your comparing the skill levels of the drummers and not just utilization.... well.. yeah.... Dale and Cody are a fucking monsterous force....

The 2 drummers add such a punch live and on Static Tensions, it's killer.

Holy shit. This is why I have a hard time trusting dogs. I got bit by a random neighbors dog a few years ago and haven't been able to fully trust them since. Fucker bit right through my finger. There was fat and shit hanging out. Couldn't play bass for like 3 months. Of course, my dumb poor ass just superglued it and wrapped it up. Healed all crazy.

Anyways, cats are fucking awesome.

Not sure I got the point across. The band consists of two drummers. No guitar, no bass, no vocs. 2 drummers. They do some rad shit with triggers and random noise devices, synth etc. but it's 2 drummers. Kind of like 2 girls one cup but there are no cups involved and instead of girls, drummers. (one drummer is a girl type person) they are cool and I'm glad I've seen em but mikes band blows them out of the water.

Well, the promoter for our show is fucking around with the lineup, AGAIN, and it's pissing me off to the point where I'm not sure we're gonna play. I'll keep you posted John- on the plus side, if our show goes to shit, I'll see you at Floor in Seattle. Still thinking I might try to make the PDX show on Friday but gotta make a decision today....

What? Is it that pirate loving guy? I'll keep an eye on it. Floor would be rad. You guys are rad, your venue is 4 minutes from my house......

I knew someone was going to post that video. I hope that kid makes a quick, full recovery, and he certainly did nothing to instigate it, and the cat is amazing. But. Someone did something terrible to that dog, or it was seriously ill (rabies?). I promise you that.

I could make a few of these amps this summer if someone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/user/DemonAmplification/videos
$1000 each or a little bit less if cheaper transformers used than Edcor. PM me at FB: https://www.facebook.com/DemonAmplification

Allman Brothers + The Dead.

More genre-oriented -- the Big Business flavor of the Melvins.

I don't think any really do. I don't care for the whole idea of it. But if you must ones that have 2 drummers that I do like:

Can't find a link to anything but I like Burmese who is a destructive noise/doom/grind? sorta band. it's 2 bassists and 2 drummers.

I don't care about Melvins with 2 drummers. Infact ingeneral I really don't give a shit about the Melvins for a long time and the last thing I cared about they did was Houdini. And even then I don't listen to it much. They just don't do much for me.

I just rather hear one really impressive drummer than 2 playing off each other or whaatever, that really doesn't impress me as much, it's just like having a percussionist like later day Living Sacrifice or Birushanah

But kylesa, they were better without the 2 drummer gimmick cause it's a gimmick. I've listened to them on headphones and their subtle differences aren't enough to warrent having both. if one stopped you wouldn't notice.

pelliott wrote:The 2 drummers add such a punch live and on Static Tensions, it's killer.

I've seen them live with the 2 drummers. Visually it's slightly interesting but it literally did nothing for the sound or added any punch. It doesn't make a difference when it's all miced up, just added more time for setup.

i just remembered one band that used 2 drummers that I liked but it was for a show or maybe a tour and they recorded a dvd of it and that was King crimson and they basically were running duel lineups. And that was impressive. other than that, no care.

and like Corky said, Dale doesn't need an extra drummer he filled out the Melvins monsterously.
