checked out that greco,
I'm pretty sure this wont be as nicely made, I have a 12 ric style from the same place and it required fretwork, bridge relocation and replacement of the shit bigsby it came with. but it plays great now and sounds killer. I'll report on this thing when it gets here for sure.

I want it mostly as a writing tool. I figure I can loop a bass line and then play guitar parts over it. I do that sometimes now but stopping, unplugging, switching guitars... kinda kills the vibe. I'd also love to get a project going where I could actually use it live. we'll see how that goes.

I do the same thing but with just a guitar and a pitch shifter. It doesn't look nearly as cool though.

yeah I use an octave down a lot for that but it doesnt sound the same. Very col sounding in it's own way but very different than an actual bass.

I use a Digitech BP200 for pitching down, and after a lot of experimentation I've been able to find a setting that is very convincing. But of course, ain't nothin like the real thing baby.

Our drummer told us the other day that he is planning on going into the army and if he can drop 9 more lbs he will be leaving to go to basic training in July or August. The drummer supply here is non existent so I'm gonna just take his spot when he leaves. We started writing with that lineup the other night before he got there and came up with this intro for a new song. Matt (t0thesun) traded his AOR for a Music Man hd150 and it sounds great with a Revelation in front of it. My drumming sucks, but I didn't wanna push it and undo any good that this wrist surgery has done.

Man that sucks. Speaking as a person who just got out of the Army, let me just say that now is not a good time to join. the attitude from the top down has changed from "we're going to support soldiers and get them everything they need to succeed" to "If soldiers don't like it they can get out" I doubt you can talk him out of it as people get fired up over doing something like that. It's a huge commitment. But yeah, kinda shitty man.

Yeah it's a terrible idea. All the money in the military budget goes to arms and equipment manufacturers, while support and services for the troops get cut. Not to mention being a guinea pig, a disposable chunk of meat, and potentially compromising your own values.
