Recently bought their 10xCD box of '80s material. Not all of it stellar but it was cheap so there is definitely enough for to listen to for the price.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
i've been listening obsessively to a private-pressing CD i bought at the Ben Ottewell/Ian Ball out of Gomez show a couple of weeks ago. it's a band-format album that features Ian and Ben along with a singer/songwriter form LA who goes by Buddy (t/n Francis Humberston) and the rhythm section from his 2007-2018 band, also called Buddy. Buddy met Ian when the latter lived in LA (which he still may do) and he's been touring with Ben and Ian as opener/sit-in for over a decade now. the bassist is Will Golden, who's done a lot of soundtrack and TV scoring work in Hollywood, and the drummer is Michael Jerome, who among other artists toured with Better Than Ezra for years between session and tour work with John Cale, Richard Thompson, and other illustrious names to have on one's resume.
unfortunately their album, which apparently is titled "Handbags" and has no collective artist ID, is currently only available at their shows on CD/LP. not even a damn Bandcamp download. all i can show you is versions of a couple of songs from the album played live by Ben, Ian, and Buddy in New York/Glasgow respectively. you won't get the benefit of the arrangements which have a lot of creative use of synths and a brilliant rhythm section, but the tunes are STRONG. as they say in the first song, "WORK IT OUT." "Limited Vibes" has been stuck in my head since the gig on 10/19.
