Have a CT5 coming to me again, I've missed the weirdness and am in a place to allow it to be weird properly now :)

Had this for a week or two now, such an inspirational box. Really making me re-think the power/beauty of tiny notes played in reverse. Here's a clip of a lot of that happening at once.

Really excited to integrate the sequencer into stuff, instant scattered beauty when it's set to 5ths/octaves

At one point I figured out how to update the firmware on my CT5.
But somehow I haven't updated to the newest firmware yet.
I need to try out that soft switch hold in Mode 1. Need to figure out
how to update again.

A couple winters ago I made a lot of tiny scratches into the emulsion
of a 16mm filmstrip and then improvised some sounds to accompany
the resulting visuals by relying heavily on the CT5 (and a Boss RE-20,
a Basic Audio Gnarly fuzz, Moog MF-Trem, and an Amdek PHK-100 Phaser).

For the curious, here are the results of all that:

Yes you do. It enables some killer real-time sampling, glitches, and stutters.

The problem is that the method I used for firmware update on my Mac the first time
didn't work when I tried it for the new update. I really need to try again!

You have to change a few lines in the code. The full instructions are buried somewhere in here...
You just need to make sure that the line of code that calls on the version you'll be updating to reflects the version of the most recent firmware. It's super easy and a simple CMD+F will find all instances of the other version for you to change.

Actually, the new version requires no changes, just requires me to update a file on my server whenever there is a new update

Rev J here... ever so eagerly awaiting some new features to play with. Do you know which ones are or aren't going to make the cut for the Rev J updates?

And is that expected end of Feb for J too?

If I recall correctly there were two ways to update the firmware on Mac.
The first time I updated, one of the ways didn't work, so I tried the other
and it worked like a charm.

This last time I tried updating the firmware and neither of the boot options
for running the script worked on my computer (I must have done something wrong).

So now I need to sit down and try it again.

This soft-switch glitch in Mode1 is right up my sonic alley, so I need to get to the
goods on my CT5 for to tweak the sounds.

I'll do a test of my script tomorrow, but nothing's changed since the last update. And that one tested fine for me.

Will report back

It is quite likely that the error is me (I think my computer gave me the nickname "User Error" a few years back).
