Given how much I've been digging on the Solar Halos debut, that's a feature, not a bug. I'll have a listen.

http://oldiron.bandcamp.com/album/cordycepsArgonaut- tighter than I've seen 'em in a while, super good. I love watching Brandon play the drums; dude's a serious motherfucker.
BotSC were amazing as usual. I wish they would play shows a little more often. I know Tad was running a Mesa DR and a Model T and, I think, a Model T clone/variation. Truly crushing.
Ax- did you happen to meet Brent Monson? Luckily, for him, I didn't see him until I was leaving so I couldn't try talking him into building me a sweet guitar for supercheap. See you tonight!
No, I didn't. Would love to meet him and get to pick that mans brain. I have to admit I get a bit jealous when I hang out with you or Darren. You bastards know everyone around here and it makes me realize I wasted about 12 years when I was musically asleep. Almost every show I go to I meet people who are doing amazing things, either as musicians or people who build, or both. It can be a bit overwhelming at times because I'm hardly a social butterfly but has been so worth it.
Seconding Blood ceremony. That womans got some talent. First time I heard them - "Is that a fucking flute? "

then I find out shes singing, rocking the organ and the flute parts. Sounds like it would not be awesome but it fits so well.

Not necessarily doom, but these might fit the bill.
Cauchemar is traditional heavy metal with a dark atmosphere:
http://youtu.be/x8Ftzl2EX2YOccultation is something else entirely. Dark, occult, and sinister without being more 70's worshipping "occult rock." The guitar player is also in Negative Plane.

Listening to this Old Iron. It's far better than I thought it would be. Kinda reminds me a more sped up Asunder.

Definitely took full advantage of that. I swear one day when I'm rich I'm going to buy everyone's album on vinyl in hopes it'll forgive me for being a cheap/poor bastard from earlier.

Does anyone else feel like like they're smashing their faces into rusty barbed wire when they're setting up and intonating a guitar?

It doesn't bother me as much as wiring a guitar. I really hate finding room for wires when a bunch of switches and stuff are involved.
And soldering to pots is bullshit, I'm never able to do it well. I just buy pots with long lugs, bend one back, and solder that along with the ground wire to the case.
