Yes! My old band Prison Shank had a song called "the riddle of steel reserve." It is a truly crushing beverage.

I am incapable of drinking Steel Reserve without vomiting. It's like, one sip and boom I'm puking.

Fuck yeah!

Also, what in the fuck is "post-sludge?" I hate the post-genre titling. At best it implies that a band took the characteristics of a given style of music and turned on all of their delay/reverb pedals. At worst, it implies that a band lacks any interesting characteristics and turned on all of their delay/reverb pedals. Post metal. Post rock. Post hardcore. Post black/death metal, which I've seen more and more lately, irritates me the most.

I'd MUCH prefer it if "post *style of music*" bands were just bands of a given genre that only sang about mail carriers and/or fence posts.

Commercial mead or homebrew? There's a relatively local meadery (B. Nektar) that I've been meaning to try, but we usual have enough homebrew around (and drink it so slowly) that buying mead is unnecessary.

Commercial.
And not a true mead either.
I just happen to like the deep sweetness of this one.

I agree with the steel reserve vomitosis.

Ah. Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the women.

I LOVE mead. I've been homebrewing for about a year, but never tried my hand at mead. Any suggestions or things to approach differently than brewing an ale?

And CaptainBoxman. ..

I guess it can get in the same ballpark. I'm probably not the best person to discuss the similarities since I usually don't get along with rats

Do you know what it's like being literally the only person into gore metal in your city? It's awful...

Actually, that sounds freaking awesome.

Well, it's not MY homebrew - my best friend makes it. I don't have the patience for shit like that. It seems to take a good six months after bottling before it's fit to drink, so that's probably one difference from the ales.
