I know... I'm so conflicted but I know its going to a good home and will get used, and I could definitely use the wattage boost for my bass rig.

But the Wiz shall be missed..... :mope:

AA, skully, we're all still going, yes?

I'm trying... we got all three kids this weekend, and I have to drive out to WV during the day to trade for the Matamp. I will send you a text later once I discuss with the misses.

so...i've gone against all the advice and done a deal with a guy on a Marshall JCM900 MkIII...but i think i got a good enough price that i could flip it with a small profit.

i'll do demo once i get it...from reading online, i'm convinced this is a underrated amp, and written off because it has "JCM 900" badge...but we'll see.

Something like that! I love that the town is called Falling Waters. West Virginia really is an awesome place if you get past the stereotypes.

Yeah DOS Sr. was born in West Virginia.

Something I never let him forget, because, you know, New England Elitist.

misterstomach wrote:it's been said a bunch, but a model t reissue is not a model t at all. fender just put the name on a more recent incarnation of the two channel twin with a high gain channel. totally different amp. you might like it, but don't expect a model t. that being said, you can certainly get an aor for a lot cheaper and it's certainly a better value most of the time. i'm not as crazy about the aor's as a lot of people, but they're certainly good amps.

you've mentioned model t's a bunch. it seems that if that's what you really want, you should just save up and get it. they are a lot more expensive than they used to be, but that doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't pay that. if you can afford it and really want it, why not? no shame in that. and there's just not a lot of other amps out there like them. it might be worth looking into the eagle cabs clone or the verellen clone that had some pics circulating recently. probably not much different in price and you can get something new, hand made and have the customer support of an existing small company that can help you out. and you won't have the concerns associated with 30-40 year old amps.

Ill definitely look into the eagle cabs clone, and what I know about verellen is that those are ridiculously pricey. Also im not sure id be down to throw 2500 bucks at what you said, a 30-40 year old amp. What do you guys think about the hovercraft falcon in model t spec? Would that also be something acceptable?

But if you went back in time and bought a bunch of Model Ts so you could sell them today for ridiculous prices you might buy and keep the ones that O'Malley and Anderson would use to start Sunn O))) and create an alternate timeline and when you get back to modern times Sunn O))) could be called Gorilla or Behringer Piece of Shit PA and your Model T will be worth $25 and people will laugh at you for owning them

Man, if model t's have hit that much they are pretty even with just having a custom amp made. And with the custom you can have little tweaks added to make it more to your liking. The original model t is basically just a marshall super bass with a few component changes and a power section running in ultra linear. Hell, I could build you a model t clone for cheaper than 2500.

I have never played a hovercraft, so i can't give you first hand knowledge, but I think they are just rebuilds in chinese amps?

true...i was also thinking about going back to 1968 and buying up Orange OR 120's for £35...but then I remembered the lessons learnt in Back to the Future...anything you do in the past could alter the space-time continuum and can have drastic effects on the present time. You could come back and Matt Pike actually played classical guitar and studied really hard, didn't drink or smoke, and was now high paid Lawyer who spend most of his free time on TGP talking about how much his Les Paul weighs and how that makes the tone better than a Les Paul that weighs 0.05lb less.

Also you could never snag an £OR120 for 35.

You can, however, apparently buy them for less than half the price of a Model T now. Jesus.
