I know that it's pretty unoriginal to complain about superhero movies, but i'm just so sick of hearing about them. Like I didn't any more reasons to avoid the front page of Youtube. It can't be escapism if it's just as mundane as real life.
I only have one true love

I've heard there's a media shitstorm about the new Avengers.
Quite frankly, I don't get it.
The film is a no brainer, just deal with it.
Its entertainment, lets move on.

Exam tomorrow (Nineteenth-century American literature). Chance of failure: Alarming. That's what I get for having a slacker semester. Got to play a lot with my pedals for the last four months, though. There is sort of a comfort in that...

Nah man, 19th Century American Literature? I don't know what you read, but it's an allegory for the Civil War, or criticism on capitalism or puritans. Favorite essay I ever wrote was making up shit that Moby Dick could be about. Sharks eating the whale? Shark bites are round. Coins are round. Coins are money. Whales are money. DAMN CAPITALISTS ARE TAKING MONEY FROM THE WORKING MAN.

Fuck. I got behind in math class because I'm going to school full time and working full time and now I have 2 weeks to do 2 chapters, 2 tests, and a final exam.
Or I could fail miserably and try again next semester. Which sounds awful.

when people feel entirely disenfranchised and disowned by their own society they may well feel they have nothing to lose by expressing their frustration in whatever form and by whatever means they have at their disposal.
just because it isn't eloquent or even logical it doesn't mean that it isn't a legitimate and sincere expression of a justly felt sentiment.
"Today, U.S. income inequality is comparable to other developed countries before taxes and transfers, but is among the worst after taxes and transfers, meaning the U.S. shifts relatively less income from higher income households to lower income households.[2] The U.S. ranks around the 30th percentile globally, meaning 70% of countries have a more equal income distribution"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Income_ine ... ted_Statesand that's before you even touch on the race issues, though clearly the two are inextricably linked.
time to take your head out of your ass, powers that be of the united states. same applies to the uk, which is the states' mini-me.
if you don't deal with inequality, sooner or later inequality will deal with you.

We actually didn't read Moby Dick (too long?), but we read Benito Cereno. Our teacher, being pretty eccentric and flamboyant, has been more focused on female rights (Lillie Devereux Blake, Edith Wharton), pacifism (William Dean Howells), racism/slavery (Mark Twain, William Apess, Frederick Douglass, Henry Longfellow), the self (Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, R.W. Emerson) and mystery/psychology (Hawthorne,Henry James). It's a really solid syllabus, I just haven't spent enough time with it. Three literary courses in one semester was a little too heavy. I was barely able to read all of the texts.

The Indonesian government have just shot a couple of Australian heroin smugglers. What pisses me off is that Australian bleeding hearts are complaining about it. Had they got into the country with that shit, how many people would that smack have killed? A lot probably. I have lost a lot of friends to that shit, not to mention lost my soul and almost my life several times to that poison myself. Fuck the heroin smugglers and dealers. And fuck those idiots complaining that those arseholes were executed for it. Rant over!
