for the past, I dunno, two weeks I guess, I've been sick at least a little bit. Cold, sore throat, runny nose, fever, then into the 'can't-get-out-bed' level, chills, etc then the 'gee, must be fine now' phase before back to the start.

Missing Rajasthan a lot right now. I can't wait for winter to be over so I can get out of here and have a tangible sense of exploration again. I had such a tiny taste of it in India and I'm ready for more.
But for now... cube life. Bleh.

Why don't you get some dodgy Indian take away food, release a shitload of flies in your home and have a taste of India without leaving your house.

Faced with the prospect of needing to sell stuff off to get my new amp, I'm realizing how unessential most of my pedals are. At this point, I could sell all my pedals except 2 (not including tuner) and be fine. Really, I could play all the songs I've got written with just my Mini. I love jamming in my room with delay, but I haven't really written anything with it. Same with my looper. Don't need an octaver. And as much as I love fuzz, mine have been irking me lately.
What is happening to me?

It happens to a lot of us. The discovery and desire of all this crazy new shit but at some point it kinda becomes taxing. how you proceed from here is your choice. Sometimes you have to pack pedals away for a while and rediscover them, sometimes you gotta sell em and buy em again and again

, sometimes its just a bad day And tomorrow will be better.

You are having what alcoholics refer to as a "moment of clarity"
be happy and downsize or write more material that utilizes your effects.

Try messing with the order of your pedals, or trying modes/applications that you dont normally use. See what you can come up with.
Like, I suggest trying your el cap before the mini and using the el caps boost function with shortish delay time and moderate feedback, so you can get smeared delay and more gain with one switch
& if you dont find anything you like about certian pedals, FUCKIN SELL EM AND DONT LOOK BACK. You can always buy them again in the fuTure unless they're some rare shit.

I think I might take everything off my board except my Accountant, Mini, and El Cap. I really like that suggestion. I do have a Driving Notion coming soon, so I'll have 2 very different dirt sounds. I also need to start utilizing my volume knob more to clean things up. I just played with the Mini set higher gain than normal and then rolled the volume back for normal OD and cranked it for a fuzzy distortion. Really pleased. And I'll be able to use the DN for nasty gated distortion.
I think a back to basics approach would work well. I feel like I haven't truly explored my bass VI and all its nuances because I'm too busy tweaking knobs. And once I get the Traynor, it'll be a real fresh start.
Thanks for the advice dudes!

Werd.
Dude you'd be surprised at how awesome it feels to retain only the essentials and not be faced with the indecision surrounding too many options.
To be able to plug in, switch on and annihilate.....so good.
