Dude fuck getting your car repaired at a dealership. Once you buy the car they couldn't give 2 fucks. Find yourself a good mechanic and build a rapport with them. They love repeat business and will give you a break to keep you coming back. Support the little guys. If people keep using the dealerships the little guys will eventually die off and you won't have a choice but to use the dealerships and get ripped off for substandard quality of service.

To top it all off they actually own the warranty company too.... So when I originally brought it in, it was making noise and the first diagnosis was blown head gasket because of the coolant in the oil. Filled the reverse tank; check the oil but couldn't tell if it was creamy or not. Got to work, refilled the reverse (I think the radiator was totally out so the first fill didn't do the trick). Drove errands over the weekend checking the coolant periodically and seems to have leaved out until I checked before I went to work this morning; empty again; check oil and there was no doubt coolant was in there. No engine noise this time, at least nothing that sounded out of the ordinary.

Reports are surfacing on the internet of problems with head-bolts (not typically a part that wears-out) becoming stripped out of the aluminum block in some applications the 2AZ-FE engine, including but perhaps not limited to the Toyota RAV4 and Toyota Camry. The problem begins when coolant level begins to drop and on investigation a coolant leak is discovered on the intake side of the block where a piece of foam is installed, evidently to shield the plastic intake manifold from heat. Speculation is that a harmful heat situation develops in this area of the engine block where the head-bolts are only shallowly threaded. When the problem is investigated, it is typically reported that three head-bolts located at this area of the engine may be pulled-out with very little effort, practically by hand. Since the threads in the block are stripped, the head-bolts cannot be simply tightened. Left unimpaired, catastrophic engine failure may result. This apparent design flaw is a very costly repair that may appear after the warranty has expired. Adding to the gravity of the problem, owners are reporting that Toyota is not offering a solution other than the vehicle owner paying Toyota dealers $3000.00 (USD) or more to replace the engine block, or "very limited" assistance, especially if the owner has chose to perform scheduled maintenance on the vehicle his self or herself rather than paying a Toyota Dealer's Service Department to do so resulting in that owner's lack of loyalty being taken into consideration. The exact range of specific engines and models that may develop this problem is not apparent without more information being released, and that may become available as more and more people report problems. A cottage industry is sprouting with repair kits being sold for over $300.00 (USD) to tap-out and install threaded inserts. The other reports are the dealers finding hairline cracks in the head between the oil and coolant passages. but IMO there is no way a hair line crack would allow enough coolant to get into the motor for it to be empty over night or even within a couple days. Your in luck if you don't have bearing noise but you need to go back armed with the information above and get them to fix it correctly and give you a warranty on the bearings they just installed because if coolant got in there again they could be compromised yet again.

Pointed that out to the service manager and he said he had never seen/heard about it before (at least on cars that came in). I will definitely be pointing that out to him yet again, when he calls to give me an update on what the warranty wants to do.

Bearing noise was definitely before the first round of repairs and wasn't apparent after they replaced them. As you recommended I will ask them for a warranty on the bearings if they don't end up replacing them again.
