I'm so tired of my picking hand/arm hurting. It feels okay only when strumming chords, really. Any single note stuff that's not all slow and lower-mid tempo hurts. I've tried adjusting my guitar strap, different picks, floating my picking hand over the strings instead of anchoring it....... Whenever I try and pick fast or play scales at a not medium pace, my fingers and forearm turn into steel that will not bend and feels totally tense and shitty. Am I destined to only play sludge/doom? That would not be entirely bad, but I wanna do other stuff too dammit. Trilling hurts like a MF too.

I'm exaggerating a bit..... I'm mostly certain its not tendonitis. I haven't been able to play guitar more than like a few days a week lately, so I can't see how it could be a repetitive motion injury. I stretch my arms and wrists and fingers really well because I do a lot of that gymnastic strength training, take a lot of fish oil and shit...... Sometimes I wonder if its actually that I'm not playing
enough
It mostly feels like I have to grip the pick really hard when picking lots of single notes in order not to drop it. I think I'm going to try and spend some time doing scales slowly and accurately, making sure my arm isn't tight and shitty feeling. Then I'll work up to the faster shit again.

my next semester starts this week and I'm not looking forward to it. Also, I work part time at the school as a writing tutor, and for some bullshit reason I have to spend half a day doing 'mandatory training', despite the fact that I've been doing it for a whole semester and spent a day in August doing training. The emails I got were all vague officespeak, so I couldn't understand if I was required to sign up for just tomorrow or Tuesday as well. Hopefully I can just plead ignorance and get in/out in the minimum amount of time.

5:30 am. I should go to bed. My sleeping pattern is way off. Due to living so far up north I haven't seen daylight in almost a week. Kind of trippy, really.

^I am irritated at that Chris Christie character. We're about to lose another 1,000 jobs in this state due to Mercedes probably leaving, and he's busy bromancing with the owner of a football team that isn't even one of the two teams we have here.

Fuck. Trying to rid yourself of bad or negative thinking habits is rough. I guess I'm learning a lot about myself right now though.

Craigslist should make people take an IQ test before they're allowed to post.
