Let's make it a Mardi Gras in Nawlins themed #2 with yellow LEDs. And a size L.

you're going to populate those boards manually?
That's a ridiculous quest you've chosen for yourself Ryan.

Great choice, thanks Bruce!

Stephane, you're the next chooser and I'll be in touch!

Haha yeah, I"m gonna.. and it's a tough build for sure but I've decided it's best for me to do as many through-hole boards as I can vs the small-scale manufacturing of smd boards.. that style is just so expensive up front and I don't really sell pedals fast enough to make it worth it. Plus pcb work is kinda relaxing and fun, I like it, goes great with tunes and video game spectating.

I'm starting with 30 boards, that's everybody who's paid so far, and I got all the Spin chips soldered last night (30 chips x 28 smd pins each, now that's a fun Friday night!), then I stuffed all the resistors and diodes and got to here:

I solder that, stuff in the sockets, solder that, then stuff the small caps and jacks, solder that, onto the electrolytics and wires, and boosh, done! Probably finish these 30 on Monday and then start the box assemblies.

So very cool watching these come together! Keep the production pictures coming...great fun to see...This will be one of my never sell pedals, conception to birth, it will be like it's part of the family now. I couldn't sell one of my kids, well one or two of them I could for the right price....teenagers!

Heh heh! I've only seen the first film, are any of the others worth watching?

Keep the updates coming Ryan, as has been said, so much fun following this!

It's already in town. Trapped at the customs office. Seems like a quest right from the start.

Customs Quest.. with no loot except for what you have to pay... tough sell for an rpg here, sorry Franz! Hope you defeat the customs boss soon!

I only ever watched the first one too! One of the sequels had a premise set in space that I meant to watch on Netflix.. space hell... like Event Horizon maybe hey.. probably not.

Here's more pcb build pics!

So next step was stuffing all the lil caps and small legged parts, got to here:

(208.75 KiB) Downloaded 36 times

Then the last step is the electrolytic caps and crystals and wires:

(178.94 KiB) Downloaded 36 times

Which gets me to here:
DSC01890 (Large).JPG
(203.84 KiB) Downloaded 36 times

I'll get that done this afternoon then start laying out the parts for the box assemblies!

Are they precut wires Ryan or do you just have monumentally good hand eye coordination?

Event horizon is the perfect blend of sci fi, horror and cheese. I love it.
