Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man, this album. I got to see them play on this tour - we were at the venue early (and they were running a little late), so we got to witness the tail end of their soundcheck. Watching the soundperson field the sheer number of requests for the monitor mixes onstage was almost worth the price of admission alone.

Haaaaaa I saw them then too and had a very similar experience—hearing the drummer soundcheck that drumbeat was so fun, then hearing the full song later in all its glory... so good. I asked Ian after the show if their stuff was improvised or all written. He was like "oh yeah, all written." Blew my freshman mind.
