Yeah, I read that the other day. Only problem is that with what I want to do (cell and developmental biology) if you don't have a PhD you're some other PhD's lab bitch.

Which is why I didn't go into hard science. Figuring out how graft robot parts onto people would be awesome except for the umpteen years of bitchwork. So instead I'm applying for a Masters in Hanging Around Scandinavia (actually sounds like a really fucking cool program that I'm super excited about and hope they won't crush my dreams by not waiving the tuition).

Can you transfer as a PhD student? Like kill it in a not as god school and switch to a better one?

Lol wut

Ugh, dude that sucks.

Yeah, I've never made the threshold to pay it back...
But, they are the dumb bastards that keep bumping the threshold up, so...

No, you have to work in a lab. The equivalent is doing a masters at a not so good school for a couple years and then doing the phd at a better on.

Also in human biological sciences you need an md and a phd to get a tenure track job.
Here I come 200k debt.

verizon is still robbing me
ive never raised my voice to customer service till today
ive never cared before
cause ive never payed a bill this long
i cant go into the boring explanation in detail
but they essentially told me
they found $120 that "you forgot to pay"
when i just was told i had $70 crediit 3 weeks ago
so 3 weeks ago i was -70
today i am +$138

thats $208 a month for just internet
i should have let them keep doublebilling me
it was only $95 a month then
i think im gonna switch too.......
oh wait there is no other option
oh well
anyone else wanna fist an unwilling receiver?
speak up
im all loosey goosey right now
and verizons hand is covered in gold rings
and still clenching my wad of money as they enter me dry
your soft puny college boy piano hands will slide right in
i think verizon may have left a cigarbutt in there
you think you could snuff it out for me?
smooches

Dude, is there no way you can dispute that shit?
Did you keep a record of when and whom you spoke to when they said you had credit?
There's no fucking way I'd be paying that.
Telstra tried the same shit on with me.
My account still says I owe them money, but I ain't paying it.
They haven't hassled me either, so I'm guessing someone dropped the ball.
Telcos are all useless and outsource this shit to call centres across Asia, then give them a prerogative of "be as rude as fuck and hunt every last dollar", then they turn around and act like your best friend when you crack the shits and try to assassinate a manager that speaks the same language at you, who blames the corporate wheel for outsourcing it all in the first place, as if they wouldn't have been dodgey if that didn't happen.
Just another buffer between you and the truth and your money.

queue? is that right?
anyway i was just 3am ventranting pope
this is an unsolvable prob
my girl actually brought up republicans when this was goin on
you tellin me verizon dont pay obama too?

Money troubles. :grumble: I had a tire blowout and also had to shell out money to get our garage door fixed. Now I need to sell some pedals just to pay my fucking bills. This fucking sucks.

they're putting me on a project at work where i'm going to have to learn a bunch of SQL stuff hitting the ground running. i am mortified and want to go hide under the covers with my kitty, even though it's probably within the realm of possibility to learn it. i just don't want to be doing this...i want to go back home to California and do print production like i used to do. but i can't. my old job is gone, along with the rest of my old life. i'd give anything to have them back now, even with all the hassles and unpleasantness.

Sorry bud :(

I'm putting all the money I've made on selling my pedals toward paying off my credit card and it sucks. My workplace put a freeze on annual raises right after I started working there over a year and a half ago and have yet to kick them back in. My girlfriend and I realized we probably can't afford our vacation to Vermont this summer. I'm doing a bunch of annual performance evaluation work and it's hard to get motivated to do it since it's not leading to improved pay right now.
