Also, UC sorry for your loss, I have several "close" friends whom I only talk to once a year or so and don't know how I'd handle such a situation

I once knew this guy in high school who I head heard committed suicide a few years after graduation. I hadn’t seen him in years and we weren’t that close. Anyway flash forward 15 years and I’m having dinner with my wife and the waiter looks oddly familiar. I say “that guy looks like this guy I knew who committed suicide”. Of course I don’t say anything. That’s weird. Then as we’re paying the bill I run into another (mutual) friend and we’re chatting it up for a hot, and he says “hey, Jason is over there, he works here!” And I’m like “hold up, he’s dead!!”

Turns out he was NOT dead but was slanderously shit talked him for years by an ex who told everyone he had died. That’s some cold shit. He must have done something really shitty to piss her off that much.

Anyway, I said “wow, it’s you! I heard you were dead!” and he said “yeah, I get that A LOT”.

(This is 100% true I swear).

I spent the last like month and a half stoned when not at work so I kinda disappeared from the internets. But I kinda got burned out on it.
