So after going through a lot of fuzzes I'm still looking for a really dense ,hairy buzz saw Jesus and Mary Chain type fuzz. Is the Frazz Dazzler the fuzz I'm looking for?

Hey 1,2,3!

Finding that perfect fuzz tone is a real challenge, isn't it? I can't say for sure that a Frazz will nail the Jesus and Mary type fuzz but it definitely is a thick, dense, and grinding kinda fuzz. Whereabouts are you? Maybe I could point you towards a place to check one out...and if that's not a great option maybe we could arrange for you to try one out after September, uniting people with Frazzes is a special calling and we take it very seriously.

Thanks for checking it out!

I believe a frazz may get you close, but of course, you'll also need lots of reverb! The "Sizzle" knob should help in dialing that broken Shin-ei fuzz wah sound, and the mix control is pretty splendid also!

Otherwise, a Devi Ever US will give you buzz saw sounds and a MXR Classic 108 (A.K.A. Fuzz Face) can add sustain to the US quite easily. Settings I use for J&MC sounds are~

US- Volume~ Wherevers! MXR- Volume~ Usually around 1 o'clock
Control Knob~ Cranked  Fuzz~ 3 o'clock

Just bought one so when it arrives I'll be able to tell you. If I'm super lucky, it should be here by monday.

Nice score on the frazz, looks just like mine just with different knobs.

I'd say it can kind get buzz saw maybe with the sizzle up, but my favorite settings happen to be with the sizzle rolled back

I'm really surprised I don't see more frazz dazzlers on this board, I think most of the people here would dig it. It has quickly become one of my favorites.

Yeah, but now I'm going to get my modulation crap done with so I can buy more dirt pedals for different situations. Frazz should cover the rest of the ground my other fuzzes don't until I get a Chosmichorus, DEM, PN-2 (or tremolescense), and some envelope filter or different wah. :idk:

Jon, you rule and it fills my heart with joy to hear about you enjoying your Frazz!

David, I hope you get a kick out of it! And I'm sorry that it won't arrive as soon as you were hoping, international shipping can be pretty slow.. I think the customs workers bring their guitars and amps to work and hang on to pedals extra long. Definitely let us know what you think of your Frazz, please!

I figure I'll bring the Frazz to a different session to make some demos with it. Or just record a demo of it on my computer. :wow what a fantastic idea you have there:
Customs mischief ruins pretty much everything though... Hopefully it won't be too long until his twin brother, Bernard W. Chosmichorus arrives. :)
But is there really any threat with a Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler, customs workers?

(Of course if the robot trapped inside the Frazz Dazzler breaks out of his vinyl prison and wreaks havoc upon the gentle folk of Thunder Bay THEN there is something to worry about...)

Well I'm about an hour away from Toronto so I'm assuming the closest I could try one is Moog Audio? Anyways, I just ordered a DBA Soundwave Breakdown so I don't have any money to buy one now but if the SB doesn't give me what I'm looking for I'm going straight to the Frazz Dazzler :thumb: :omg:

I would if I could. I filmed demos of the Supersonic Fuzz Gun, Cherry Pop, and Mellowtone Hi-Five Boost and only after that did I figure out that my computer doesn't recognize the video camera and I lost the software for it :picard:

Dang.
A similair thing happened to me, we bought some software so we can convert our home video cassete's to DVD on the computer, and it just said that everything was copywritten, and all we put in there was home movies. :erm:

I think it would be awesome to put another fuzz in front of the Frazz, and use the mix control to blend it in. Though, that would have incredible amounts of feedback...

That's a cool plan for sure! And if you blend it with the gating side there might not be any feedback at all, the gate clamps pretty tight and fast.. like a fast and tight tiger.

123, if you tell me what exact J&MC songs you want to get the tone of, I'll try to see if I can get similair sounds when my Frazz arrives. :joy: I'm sure it will be able to get the sounds of Never Understand (with the gate off, of course)
