Sometimes I wish I could dedicate my life to becoming a professional assassin and just fucking blowing this guys head off in front of his family but then I realize that's psychotic and not the best way to solve the problem.
Would be so goddamn satisfying though...

I hope someway through all the shit she's going through she finds and accepts the help she needs. And hopefully that guy gets locked up for a long time, or at least until he is rehabilitated as someone who isn't a piece of shit.
I hope she does.
To be honest, we don't really rehabilitate people down here in Oz. Prison is punishment, pure and simple. We don't have governments interested in harm prevention, or preventative strategies of any description, so the odds on that happening are slim.
Sadly the odds on his going down to serve time are slim as well, given that the laws are a bit fucked up when it comes to domestic violence (cops aren't allowed to intervene until something has happened already, to some extent the woman is persecuted/at suspicion as much as the male assailant, etc.) but their situation is also complicated through immigration law, visas and so forth.

Naw you guys I explained badly but I was angry and a bit drunk. I was talking about a wine bottle needing a corkscrew. I'm perfectly familiar with ghetto bottle opening methods (which is why it annoyed me so much, he could have easily done any of those things with a beer, but took the only corkscrew!!)

Haha yeah I know dude, I'm not gonna be mad at the guy, just really needed to vent.

In response to Mr. MonkeyTango: aaahhhhh, now that's (scientifically) even simpler.
You just need a screw and something to tie it to. Or one of those screw-hooks.
Like zis:

There's really no wrong way to go about it from there. Just let me say that in between your legs is a very stable place to hold something roughly the shape and size of a wine bottle.

Good ideas! I went for the option of knocking on neighbours' doors till someone had one. I've settled for totally destroying it and sieving the wine before, and pushing the cork all the way in, but it's really so much nicer to do it right.
