That's what Antonio's does too! Makes for a perfectly crunchy bottom crust... mmmmmmmmm...

Relatedly, I had my 2nd (or 3rd - I lose track) favorite pizza this past Friday: BUFFALO CHICKEN!!! Yum... again, a white pizza, but this time with buffalo chicken, extra buffalo sauce, celery and creamy bleu cheese on top. SOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! But I always feel like crap the next day, because I always eat way too much of it...

jrmy wrote:One of my favorite pizza places ever was in Amherst, MA back when I was in college - Antonio's. They had a killer tortellini pizza! It was a pesto-based pizza, with tri-color cheese tortellini on top. Sooooooooooooooo good.

Well, I have some spinach shelled tortellini, fusilli (spiral) noodles, parmesan/alfredo sauce, etc. I was thinking, get some pesto from work, mix it with the alfredo sauce. Get the noodles/tortellini cooked while the ovens pre-heatin', toss the sauce in the noodles, then on to the pizza it all goes! I may just spread the pesto on the dough, as you would normal sauce, then add the alfredo noodle mix on top.

I know this is kind of pizza sacrilege but do you guys ever have frozen pizzas from the grocery store? I do.. sometimes.. out of desperation... I had a garlic bread pizza by Kraft last night... it was decent.

There was a summer where I ate a Celeste pizza basically every other night  In my defense, I was in the middle of no where, but still...

Don't be ashamed of it, buddy, there's no judging here. If there's no pizza available then ANY pizza will do.

Must have been a fun summer in the middle of nowhere... gold prospecting maybe? Running from the law? Again, no judging.

My grocery store has these $0.99 frozen pizzas. They suck so good.

:joy:

never under estimate the joys of frozen pizza. example, crown royal + moosehead + guitars + pedals + amp + 3:00 am = no pizza....

frozen pizza! the best invention since pizza! :yay:  :yay:

it is all on how you cook it. if you have a real cheap frozen grab a brick of mozz and shred from freshness on there. even sprinkle some oregano and some red peppers before it goes in the oven. fresh ground black pepper anyone? i go right on the oven rack. no pan. no foil. sure you might have to go in tomorrow and get some burnt cheese off the bottom of the oven, but if you do that your crust crisps real nice. oh, and you gotta turn it at least once....

damn you guys...

is 7:00 am and just started work and now i want pizza again...

ok, sorry. its not your fault. i wanted pizza when the alarm clock went off.... :thumb:

I can get great NY pizza any time I want, but sometimes I still feel like a frozen pizza...namely Mystic Pizza from the supermarket. They are actually pretty great.
Nothing like the real thing, I've been there a few times...but pretty damn tasty for a frozen pizza.

I always drench everything in oregano and red pepper, so good going in...painful going out.

my dream pizza has to have a medium thick crust lathered with tomato purée and slices of the most exquisite pepperoni on top which are doused in a meadow of paramesan and mozzarella and a dash of oregano

Mystic Pizza makes a great frozen pizza. I'll have the fire roasted veggie at least once, and sometimes 3 times a week.

wow, this thread has really evolved.... i live Connecticut at the moment and there's this fierce argument between NY and CT as to which has the better pizza.... i've had the best NYC has to offer and I've had the best CT has to offer and they're both amazing in their own ways... but damn if i don't miss my Chicago deep dish or (*gulp* to actually admit this....) California Pizza Kitchen.....

so yeah, i'd take two of the .99 cent cracker pizzas and use them as bread for a pizza sandwich....
