There isn't a dedicated Your and You're thread, so I'll pop it in here...

It is an amazing bass fuzz. The sweet spot for me is having the tone knob between 7:00 and 10:00 ish. If you crank the tone knob up higher there is DEFINITELY some high freq artifacts, almost like a cocked wah sound. I'm not implying that this is a bad thing, but your taste may vary. It is super gated all the time, which is awesome.

The only expression pedal I have is a hotone bass press, and it is not the ideal expression pedal for the your and you're. However, I can see where having the expression hooked up will yield some cray cray results.

I think it sounds just like a filter on a synth, but when rocking the tone knob while playing it has a wah feel to it.

I'll try to get some clips up

I got one of the 1st run Your&You'res without the expression control. It's an awesome pedal on it's own, but even before the 2nd run came out I thought to myself that expression control would add a lot to it. I'm just wondering, as someone who knows little to nothing about DIY, how easy would it be to mod the thing to include it? Is it just a matter of adding a switching TRS jack and wiring it to the tone pot lugs?

It's not something I would attempt on my own. I would likely go to someone in NZ who is experienced with doing this stuff. Just wondering if it's a simple enough mod to do, or it would be too complicated that it's not worth even trying. Anything I should know about the circuit before attempting it? (or rather, anything whoever I get to mod it should know?)

I don't want to be a bother, so you don't have to walk me through the nitty gritty details. If it's a hugely complicated procedure that requires tonnes of explanation for even an experienced DIY guy to wrap their head around, then I'll just keep it as is. You probably have better things to do so it's really not worth the hassle if it'll take an essay worth of info.

if you want i can mail you a new pcb and the exp jack . you will just have to drill a hole for the exp jack. no soldering rqd

please email me directly if you are interested mtl.asm@gmail.com

the expression sweep is not quie as smooth as the knob because the circuit uses a "C" taper pot (anti log) and most expression pedals are "B" (linear) but it does allow you to sweep the tone with your foot.

That's actually a pretty cool collection. I'd love to try out one of those Probability of a Fax Machine's or Wrong Side of Uranus'.

multi_s has made it fairly clear he's not a fan of calling out these listings in this sub forum though. It's out of his control and not really something he has anything to do with.edit:ignore me

Oh oops by bad, I didn't realize it was frowned upon. I just saw all the posts after the 856 came out, and the one pointing out the 1st-gen Y&Y and assumed it was okay. Sorry.

It's a definitely a cool collection. But adding up what he spent on it comes to about $2k - assuming he got them at the (marked-up) listed reverb price rather than making an offer. I'd definitely like to try some of the rarer ones he's got and I guess he can try and fetch a massive premium for having the patience to collect them all. Price just seems a bit silly though. Although definitely happy that Scott's made enough of a name for himself that a super-expensive collection listing like this happens (even if I doubt it'll sell at that price). It's the type of thing that happens with Spaceman when people collect a bunch with the same finish, but I didn't expect to see a 5k Montreal Assembly listing - even though the CT5 has been a massive hit, and people are frothing at the mouth for a 856.

Yeah I know you don't get pissed at that stuff. It's a good way to be. You sell something at a price, then people can do what they want after the fact. As you said, it's nice that people think your work has so much value. I only posted because it seemed a bit more noteworthy and a step up from your standard "sell a CT5 at $50-100 more than new-price".

I'm hardly enraged at the attempt at profiteering either - I just thought what he's asking was a bit silly and perhaps a tad too ambitious. You should be glad if it sells though, if people are willing to pay $5k for a mtl.asm collection that'd be pretty sweet.

If it was a serious collection, it'd have the CA ring mod...

Re-shipping. I'd assume they are a cheap asshole, but at the same time want to insure the package for the amount they are selling it for, which would cost a ton.

A serious collection would indeed include everything.

FUCK! Why did I sell mine!!!

Scott, have you decided if there will be more fewtilities this/next month? Also, can you give any info on what the puhzing is? A ring mod with exp and wet/dry? And what is the other thing that you've been playing since December? Thank you
