That depends on if you know how to do your own guitar setup... Bass setup is a little trickier do to the longer neck, RICs have two truss rods [I think] so I would take it to someone or go on TB and ask in the setup section on how you set up a RIC. But you can get pretty low if you know what you are doing but then you also have to know how to play on really low action. Personally I don't like it low, I like to pull the strings a bit for a bouncier feel and sound and you need a lot of string movement for that.

I notice nobody is really encouraging behindy to branch out and discover ILF.

He owns ILF pedals.. so I'm sure he knows here is here.... I have no probs with him coming over here at all I like the dude, but over here he won't be a odd ball:lol: TB is easy to come off as odd but on here... well..

Go ahead and bring him over, lets see if he can hang

Well..
I set my action by laying the bass flat, dropping the bridge height until I get fret buzz on the 3 rd fret, then raise it until the buzz just goes away.
Dead flat neck no relief.
Super low, not to everybody’s liking, and not recommended if you have an aggressive playing style.
I play with a light touch and crank my amp to just shy of unbearable (some times beyond).
Go ahead and bring him over, lets see if he can hang

Yes do that

Yeah, setting up a bass is as different for each bass and playing preference as can be.
FWIW I have no consistent set up I use across all my axes. Some are higher action, some are lower.
It really is about the instrument in your hands.. not what you read here.

I like MM's way. Mine's kinda similar, except its my way, so it's better.
(I set the bridge based on frets past the 9th or so, and trus rod based on the rest.... which ends up being basically flat)

Never set up my bass more than setting intonation

I feel like I'll just make it worse

So I just thought I'd come on here and vent some frustration.
Talkbass sure is sucking it up right now. Between people who have no sense of humor and rule book thumpers I'm about to write off the whole thing now.
You know what I like about ILF?......
SHIT
FUCK
DAMN
The government (who pays one of the mods I'm currently pissed at's paycheck) sucks.
Christianity (and religion in general) blows.
I'd be b& from TB for such inflammatory rhetoric.
I feel better now.

This post makes my day :D
I got an infraction from posting a graphic that subtly compared religious zealots to people that don't use their brains. Lasted THREE MONTHS. Fuckers

Yeah,...mods freely hand out infractions based on the fact that your beliefs differ from theirs. I posted an article (about net neutrality) and basically in one sentence said the government was screwing us over. After a few replied the thread got deleted and I got an infraction from the one mod who works for the government,....nay; get's paid by the government to play bass and live in an exotic place. The same mod then started thumping the TOU at me because I followed suit in posting The Awesome Power of Music v.2 in OT. He could have just moved it but he decided to be a dick about it. I'm seriously getting over that place big time.
