Honestly, I haven't used it since trying in the store. Just tossed in the front of the chain for the pic. I obviously liked it enough through the pathfinder I tested it on to think it worth pursuing though, hah, and it wasn't terribly expensive. The controls are highly interactive, and I couldn't compare it to anything right off the bat. Hopefully in the next couple of days I can run it full on with the big rig.

It's an odd boost/od/dist made by a company in Nashville called Creation Audio Labs. It runs on a 48v power supply :flame:

Eh, it's Mr. Black and the effect will probably get drowned out by fuzzes. They sound good on their own (well, they sound programmed if that makes sense) but they don't cut fuzz for some reason. They go on sale a lot too and stay in production so go for the other ones. Jack Deville has programming and design skills but I wish he would use it to control BBDs or something :idk:

Not trying to sound negative though...just realistic.

yeah that's fair. i also find 3 knobs rarely ever cuts it on a flanger, need some kind of manual shift or blend to really tweak it to taste otherwise it's a bit limited.
barber pole thru zero flange is a great idea though, maybe the chasebliss one will do something like that.. the chasebliss one seems the most promising to me since analog flangers are awesome and digital control is awesome.

I think it is a great idea too. It'd probably be pretty complicated in analog circuits because there would have to be multiple LFOs and Flange lines I would think. A complex LFO could probably get somewhat similar results maybe (it would never sound the same though). The results of Mr. Black stuff has been pretty mediocre honestly. I just think his digital effects should be put in one box and then create a control scheme to run analog circuits in a separate line would be cooler. Subdecay and chasebliss are doing neat stuff that way.

yeah some mr black stuff is like that I find, but some is pretty mad. The other guitarist in my band has a deluxe plus, after fuzz but before a timmy and it gets kind of weird in a really good way.

True.

Though to their credit they don't mention Big J anywhere on heir website, nor do they offer free bibles (cough, general guitar, cough).

Maybe the names are ironic... ???

Apart from being JC's own OD, it also sounds like this:

The Holy Fire is based on an analog computer circuit and hardwired to behave like a tube

So um... It's got that going for it...

I mean the controls spell out "God" and their logo is a Jesus fish.. subtlety is not really their thing.

The also have a buffer called the Redeemer, and their boost is the Mk 4.23, aka Mark 4:23 " If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear."

:idk:
