We just call it the "doom" room in the hope we might lure hipster girls there...into our rape vans....I mean vans of righteous wizarding.

i just got it lastnight actually. worst packing job ever. had to bend alot of the airflow vents (louvers) up. built like a freaking tank though. works fine.
actually sounds really amazing, and i wasn't concerned for $200 shipped. was thinking if i hated it, might just reuse the chassis for some future amp build.
i love the chassis. sides remind me of the old Rockford Fosgate car audio amps from the mid nineties. big blocky square heatsink ones.

only thing i can really compare it to at the moment off the top of my head, would be a carvin b1500 i have. i like the overdrive sound of the traynor more that the "DRIVE" knob on the carvin. of course the carvin does 1800w at 2ohm. Traynor is supposed to do 325w at 2ohm.

just played it about 10 minutes lastnight through one of the Sunn 215s cabs. honestly that alone, i could be happy with the sound in my jam room. but i am all about overkill and i like messing with crap.
basically i'm planning to run the Sunns off the 300t. and then the 18" off another amp. will use the "Rick-o-sound" output. split, 18 will just get clean sound maybe 80hz and below. and the sunns will have fuzz. just like to experiment (with electronics) not so much sexually.
if anything it will just be a "puke boost" to make people puke.
the carvin b1500, with brx 10.4, and 18.1, can make you puke in my jam room below level 5. and the subbass knob i never have over 2, cause the bass is fucking crazy and rattles my entire house. but not quite been able to get a tone i have really fallen in love with through that setup.

i'll let you know how i like it once i get to play it a bit more. hopefully jam this weekend, maybe record some soundclips.

You mean 200s and 2000s sizes? As far as I know, 1200s came with a 6x12 cab same size as the 2000s( I have one of each though the 6x12 was converted to a 2x15 when I found it. It has a 4x12/1x15 baffle for now). 1500s came with the same exact cab as the 2000s but with JBL D15S(D130F) 16 ohm instead of D140F 8 ohm speakers. Mine came with reconed D15S.

Cross-post from the Show Your Rig in general.

Image

Last night after our drummer couldn't make it to practice due to real life we may have decided to become a two piece with the other guitarists playing drums. We practiced and it sounded pretty good. It's more reliable at least -- nobody else to add to the mix.

If we actually go through with it I think my setup will be

Carvin X100B --> Avatar 2x12 loaded with Swamp Things --> Avatar 4x10 with Ragin' Cajuns
Carvin X100B Preamp Out to Sunn Beta Lead as a slave --> Peavey 2x15 (which will need new speakers)
RedBear MK60 --> Ampeg V4 Cab with original speakers or Avatar 4x12 with Celestion 70/80s

That could change. I may just run the Carvin and the Sunn to the respective cabs and maybe sell the RedBear. Or I may sell the Sunn and use just the Carvin and the RedBear. Haven't fooled with everything enough to know for sure.

I would rather have somebody playing Bass VI.
Convince the missus to move to Grand Rapids. We have the 3rd most rapid growing economy (according to some magazine....)
