I think those are the speakers that Fender used in the rare but not really collectable silverface Bantam bass amps. In the Fenders they're kind of notorious for crapping out. (If you find one no-worky, odds are that's the problem. Replace the baffle board with one that takes them boring old round speakers and you don't have to worry about blowing the speaker if it is still working.)

Yeah I know what you mean, for me i like to employ them but there is only so far I can go with an old school ms "delay" but these other type of delays are a source of constant invention and inspiration. I put pedals like the judder or revolver and ct5 in the delay category too and am finding endless new sounds with them. But tape delay I guess i consider in another class altogether too and one of my favorite.

Yeah Im pretty excited to get the copicat, it's a tubed version too so it's going to sound great just being in the signal chain. Ive got a Huge boner for tubed tape delay, simply the best.
Don't remember if I mentioned that I found a LAL Sick Pitch King so I can finally stop watching your demos with longing, UG.
I have one of those Dynacords, but it's mainly just sitting and decaying. I should get that thing refurbished. It clips like mad, really nice blown out fuzz sound actually, but maybe it's just pushing my amp. Never bothered trying it direct. Lately the erase head seems to have gone the way of all flesh, so it should definitely get a good check-up. Anyway, I really like the sound of it, wonky as it may be and these guys are the most common over here and easy to get by.
Also in my own GAS I'm working on a deal for a HEXE Revolver ii, that should get me into the glitch heavens and complete my pedal board. Although I've just realized I won't be able to fit everything on the board...

Good info, man. Thanks much. They sound kinda neat.

A good problem.

What I love is the movable tape head, that's how you adjust the echo time, by scrubbing the write head nearer or farther from the read head. And if you play while scrubbing the dub king magic happens! Sort of makes me want to be able to foot control that...

My Evans/Maxon is the same way. I though about a servo/wiper/acuator system with cv control. I don't think it would be that hard to pull off on mine (just about like controlling the rudder on an RC plane or something).

Got some EHX 6v6's to put into my Harmony amp to see if that fixes the weak signal. If this doesn't fix it I'm going to recap it. It's already been recapped once but they used cheap caps
