Maybe that was a fundamental misunderstanding of the pedal and is totally my fault. I just thought that there would be at least SOME variety in the sounds when I put different things through there. But with no clean blend on there I just couldn't stand that everything ended up making the same noises.
I'm glad you said this because I felt like I would come off as an asshole or something to make the same point. that's what stuck out to me the most in the knobs demo, the timbre never changed even a little bit, I felt like if I was to enjoy the PG i'd have to run it before a bunch of pedals that shaped tone or something, too much work. I don't think this would be an issue if I liked the timbre enough to begin with, but I didn't.

Here's the kicker and the reason I sold it, any pedals I put after just didn't do enough to actually change timbre. I'm still not sure if this is on me or not, but after a while of trying I just ended up getting frustrated and selling it.
I'm not really afraid of coming off like an asshole, it's my opinion on it and it should be taken with a grain of salt unless the person has tried it themselves. It's just my feeling on the pedal is all.

Actually, I was offered the pedal several times in trades recently. I kind of felt like my experience would end up like you were saying combined with the fact that I felt like it might be too "rigid" for my tastes (maybe "regular" is a better term) that comes with sequenced effects which reinforces the same idea that it always sounds like the same timbre. As a sequencer without random or other playback modes it seems like it has to overcome the regularness of traditional mod effects in addition to the extreme sound changes of a pitch shifter. I love a lot of dwarfcraft, but my experience with pedals like this has made me shy away (adrenalinn and such). Maybe it sounds great and it seems like one of those concepts that have always brewed in the back of a lot of people's minds, but I couldn't pull the trigger without an extensive jam session or something. I just think, like most others, a clean blend (or even effects loop) and different playback modes for randomness (or swing) would have made the pedal more dynamic in presentation. However, I will get around to trying one someday.

just for clarity, I don't think you came off as an asshole, or that you should worry about that in the first place. I just have a habit of not being honest enough and I often mistakenly associate how I really feel with being an asshole.
I haven't really had the desire for anything since last fall (other than a Gretsch I will never be able to afford so that's a moot point). I keep scouring The Net anyway looking for nothing in particular. I don't know why.

Dat tracking. We'll see if it can make any good sounds, lol.
nice! you can never trust gear demos for stuff like that, and plenty of the roland synth units are full of goddamn awesome sounds. looking forward to hearing an ILFer's first hand impression for sure.
I have tested it for a few minutes at the Musikmesse Frankfurt last thursday. That thing is AMAZING! Overall quite crappy presets, but man, that tracking is insanely fast and precise! You can strum all the guitar strings at once - no matter if it is a harmonic chord or not! - and the processed synth sound is perfect in tune. With a standard jack and no special pickup! Unbelievable! The price is steep and I already have enough (real!) synthesizers at home, otherwise I might be GASing for the SY-300.

I even had fun with the broken one I had. Really an awesome pedal. The gate is a really nice tremolo in my opinion too.

Love that pedal. Agreed on the gate being a great Tremolo too. I have a Koma vid on my YouTube if you feel like exploring this magnificent piece of noise.
