After some initial drama with the post man, Miku has arrived
have you heard of Hatsune Miku.jpg
have you heard of Hatsune Miku.jpg (101.56 KiB) Viewed 3487 times

Initial thoughts:
~works as intended only on high pitched, slow, lyrical lines
~Input lag of 30-100ms is very noticeable
~tracking is best on high e string
~if you play a chord into it, the random noises it makes are usually harmonically related to what you're playing

Coolest use so far: placed in front of big muff for synth effect.

They also seem to plan on bringing it to the world since they went ahead and translated the manual into English, French, German, and Spanish.

Interesting. I'm just starting to get up to speed on Mountainking after cloning a Megalith. Similar base tone or a different flavor?

I don't have the words to describe the difference but they sound different. I've owned 4 Mountainking pedals in the past and my experience is limited to bass guitar. The Heavy Machine and Megalith sound more similar to me than the Magnetar and Megalith.

The Magnetar I would say is less extreme and more synthy than the other two. Also I've owned a Behemoth II which I loved. I know Excane has made demos of most of these also if you look for them.

I should add Alan says he plans to make his whole line in the smaller enclosures now, and a few of his designs have small updates, the Heavy Machine I just got has a switch for more gain, and there's a distortion level knob. I really like the distortion control, but the gain switch is too extreme for my use.
I've been searchin' for the dolphins in the sea.

Count to five from my secret santa and a Big Distortion Sound Machine from myself. GOOD TIMES DRONING OUT.

Don't understand the ct5 at all yet but it makes cool noises.

The BDSM is awesome, the two circuits really complement each other, ruiner is bass city and the tp/ae side brings the sizzly high action. Can't wait to plug into my big amp when everyone's out of the house and end the world.
