This is what I was rocking this weekend. Still deciding on the final sequence before soldering in the board in / out cables and all that but its pretty rocking:

Nope is a Behringer Vintage Time Machine (DMM esque clone), pretty tasty for the psychedelic background swirly delays.moose23 wrote:Is that polished Memory Man? looks great.

So I'm kinda pondering going with a full clean board, as in no dirt boxes at all... as I kinda wanna start learning how to play americana / bluegrass kinda stuff (think steve von till, scott kelly and the road home, Earth, etc etc...). I'd need a good compressor, an EB volume pedal, and a good but not over the top reverb....

that would be pretty cool...on the compressor front...i would recommend MXR Custom comp on the cheaper side...and the Analogman Bi-Comp on the upper end...had both and many in between...these were far and away the best.Ancient Astronaught wrote:So I'm kinda pondering going with a full clean board, as in no dirt boxes at all... as I kinda wanna start learning how to play americana / bluegrass kinda stuff (think steve von till, scott kelly and the road home, Earth, etc etc...). When I play clean (and, incidentally, similarly-influenced styles) it's a Diamond compressor, a little delay and either the Reverberator or - more recently - the DBA Reverberation Machine (shit is daaaaaaark). Amp set to overdrive just a bit when you really dig in? Golden.Ancient Astronaught wrote:So I'm kinda pondering going with a full clean board, as in no dirt boxes at all... as I kinda wanna start learning how to play americana / bluegrass kinda stuff (think steve von till, scott kelly and the road home, Earth, etc etc...). Hey Skip, I got a Dyna Comp (spam) I'm trying to get rid of (spam) for cheap. If you're interested (spam). If not...you know...spam big deal.Ancient Astronaught wrote:So I'm kinda pondering going with a full clean board, as in no dirt boxes at all... as I kinda wanna start learning how to play americana / bluegrass kinda stuff (think steve von till, scott kelly and the road home, Earth, etc etc...). I'm pondering the comp but I've got the delay covered and a good idea which verb / 's I want. I'm actually thinking of getting something fromt he holy grail series for verb, either a nano or the big box holier / holiest. I've tried boutique verbs and nothing every really clicked, but everytime I try a grail I'm like that's the verb I want!fever606 wrote:When I play clean (and, incidentally, similarly-influenced styles) it's a Diamond compressor, a little delay and either the Reverberator or - more recently - the DBA Reverberation Machine (shit is daaaaaaark). That's a shame, the heaviest music I've ever heard had not a lick of distortion on it. Heavy is not defined by distortion or fuzz, but in the content of the music.whiskey_face wrote:"clean"

ORLY? That just might work! If I hadn't been hit by an unexpected phone bill today I'd probably go ahead and it take it off your hands. Do you have it listed in the BST?Corey Y wrote:Hey Skip, I got a Dyna Comp (spam) I'm trying to get rid of (spam) for cheap. If you're interested (spam). If not...you know...spam big deal.

Mmmmhmmmm...It's $50 shipped. I bought it to try out a King Buzzo setup with my ODB-3 for fun, but I already sold my Sunn Beta a while back and I'm trying to get rid of all the gear I don't use consistently now.Ancient Astronaught wrote: ORLY?
