It isn't as hard as it sounds, it is a lot to learn but learning it is good for any type of synthesis where you aren't using presets.
Also, modular isn't for everyone and there are other ways to learn about synthesis.

Well the thing with the boss ps-2 if you ever used it, has an interesting oscillation, it onviously a pure sinewave but I can control the tuning of the note while in manual mode and using the feedback knob I can use it as a tone knob with it being darker as I reduce the feedback and higher as increase. I wouldnt sample it just throw straight into the modular. Either way if it won't work then nevermind that!
I wish the mpc was mine because if it was, or if I had one myself, I'd probably just gig with one with all my synths carefully sampled.
I get the concept, of needing at least an ADSR of some sort and a vac to at least get started on creating some sounds though. I'm gonna read up more on this to have something connected to my rack. I could possibly throw my three moogerfoogers in there and then the modular under that and have them all connected in some fashion possibly! So many possibilities that I'm pretty sure are over my head.

It sounds quite wicked on its own already (Tuner Out mode demonstration starts at 5:00 min):

I take back what I said. if you want to use some pedal to do tone sweeps turning a knob running through delay and record it to the MPC that is actually a great idea. just be careful buying everything modular. delay pedals cost more when they are modular. if you want to interface low level signals from a guitar pedal, you will need a module to boost the volume a bit before it goes in to the modular. this A-119 will be fine to get something like an ADSR from your guitar and boost the level for a modular input. you could skip the ADSR module for now if you only want to use it for guitar.

this is a cheap upgrade for the A-119 that will make it sound better. it just plugs in no tools. sometimes you get a used A-119 on ebay for $70 and the TL074 is already in it.

To properly interface pedals with eurorack the best thing to use is the ALM SBG : http://busycircuits.com/alm006/
It even allows you to restrict voltages to levels that pedals with CV in are typically ok with so that you know you won't fry anything

Re: Let's see your KEYS/SYNTHS!
I've had my Moog Sub37 for awhile now and I almost never use it. I think I actually liked my Sub Phatty a bit more. The Sub37 has a ton more features but the Sub Phatty just felt more usable and inviting especially because I'm not a big synth guy and the learning curve has just been more of an obstacle. I honestly think I've updated the firmware more than I've actually played it in the last couple of months.

I think my tempest will have to go, I can't seem to get it to play nice in my live setup. Getting a complete song going with the tempest is easy and fun. Integrating with everything else without getting hung notes or bugs is difficult and if you don't use the internal sequencer at all then you lose a lot of the good functions. I really love the sounds I can come up with it.
I don't know if it gives me more headaches since it's not the center piece of my setup then I may have to sell it to fund my own MPC. If anyone is interested in it let me know, if I do let it go, I'll probably let it go for cheap since I bought it with some damage to it.

I just picked these up from a church in Michigan. Needs a cleaning but sounds RAD!
