thats a good question. wolf from dldevices posts on here so maybe he can chime in with some sage advice.

yeah, I've had the mti tubes preamp for awhile too....was just postin more tube pedal pron in my new npd high. b.k. butler has that big transformer as mentioned in another post.
actually turns out the dldevices balthasar is a fuzz pedal....not an overdrive per se. gets really hairy. the b. k. butler is more of a preamp/od but can get hairy when dimed but not to the degree of the balthasar.

Those other two look like they have the appropriate transformers to get the voltage needed for the tubes. This reminds me of this thread:

Yeah, but "Amy Pandafoot" thinks it's "badass".

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
this is from the dldevices website about the pedal
"the BALTHASAR
tube overdrive gives you all the holy smoke for your Amp.
Compared to the Odysseus the Balthasar's sound is edgier
and is more focused on medium and higher gain.
Running at high voltage (265V), the 12AX7 tube gives you plenty
of headroom and weedy overdrive for your vintage lusts.
As always: The circuitry is 100% analog and old school!
Controls: LEVEL / COLOR / GAIN
true bypass / 9V DC Boss style / height 2.7" (7cm)
size: 3.2"x5.9" / 8x15cm Hammond / weight 0.9lbs (400gr.)"

The transformer (converter) is the thing between the power switch and the foot switch.
There is no need for bulky transformers in low wattage devices.
You can power all our pedals with a standard 9V power supply (negative tip).

Is that thing between the power switch and footswitch a crazy charge pump then?

Lemme know what you think of the ditto.
I got it mostly for piecing together guitar parts on the fly, working on building up a song/practice some improv maybe. But it might come in handy in a band setting as well. I'm thinking about using it for my demos in the future, if I manage to get the timing right. I'm not very good at multitasking. It's pretty straight forward, so I like it. It does what it's suppose to and it does it with little to no real estate

Dude, running my new Microbrute into my AB-synth, then my Goatkeeper and then a bunch of delay leads to some amazingly chaotic results. >D
