I got the 1974 super bass today...played a bit and its just heads and shoulders above what I've had before and the pedals sound better as well...its in really good condition and the master volume works a treat...one of my best gear purchases ever!

Werd.
At the gates were cool, put I prefer the early stuff those dudes did in The Haunted.
Not death at all, but still heaby and thrashy.

I like those first 2 Haunted albums the 3rd one was alright.

But that Carcass album. biggest disappointment ever just about. I pretty much only listen to Reek and Symphonies if I want to hear Carcass.

if there is melody in my death metal I want it more subtle like how Dismember used to do.

Nice whiskey, good scores.

also agree with 'why not both' More is moar.

And speaking of more is moar..... that acoustic g100T... it brings crush

Box man is right, both would be awesome.
But the superbass is still pretty fucking amazing for a single amp rig. Well scored dude!

Wait up, are you saying heartwork was a disappointment?
Cause I'm not hearing it.

With you on the first couple of haunted albums. Everything up to dead eye was pretty cool, after that, I got a bit shmeh about it.

Even for it being blazing the path for melodic death metal. That's not what I wanted. I didn't even care much for Necroticism, but that was better... more interesting song structures and heartwork was way more simplifed and verse chorus run through. Just very disappointing when you want some good solid challenging death grind. I want sickness not sweet candy.

Duly noted, and understood.
I really like it as a no-brainer album though. For straight up riffs and shit to just bang your head to, it still holds its ground. I will definitely concede it is not the most challenging of listens, but it's still an arse kicker!

I can see where people can appreciate it cause I do love some mindless riffage, just not that one. To me it was the true sellout album and not Swansong, hell my wife stated the exact same thing when we talked about carcass.

sidenote, won a Model T on ebay for 700, obviously i don't get it since it didn't meet the reserve.

i like heartwork alright, but i agree that it was definitely the beginning of the end and doesn't stand up to the previous albums. i love necroticism though. i only listened to the new one once or twice and wasn't really swept away by it, but it is better than swan song, which isn't saying much. i did have the pleasure of seeing carcass a few times in europe since they started playing again a few years ago and it's been fucking great each time.

Yeah I caught the reunion tour when it came down here. It was pretty fucking rad.
My brother got his drunk ass up on stage which was mostly amusing.
It's been ages since I listened to swansong and I haven't heard the new one....if the consensus is they suck, I won't bother.
Wake up and smell the carcass is still pretty fucking great.

I'm guessing the reserve on that model t was +1K ?

That's my assumption about the reserve as well. Oh well disappoint for that duder.

the new one sound like heartwork but not even as good as that. It doesn't sound like an honest album, it sounds more like they took pieces of what people said they loved about carcass and tried to write an album around that.
