I'm sure the Fuck/Mini are both great in their own right and I could get along just fine with either.
But I cant be the only one...who actively tries to avoid using the same trendy clipping...as everyone else around me.
That's why I...um...use an NKT275-loaded Fuzz Face
Plus a Harmonic Percolator and v1 Fuzzrite

But everyone with an electric guitar (or bass...mandolin...accordion w/e) should seriously own an Elements

I didnt mean to have a trendy board, it just sort of happened. INFANEM, Dr Sci, ss/bs, and Dirge. I tried a lot of stuff, but these are the ones that have stuck. I think a lot of it has to do with playing bass and finding tried and true bass-friendly dirt. I want to branch out, though.

Strangely, I didn't bond with the Elements when I played it. Different strokes I suppose. Would love to try it again now that my setup and needs are a bit different.

I love boards of all kinds though. Every board I see on here, I would love to play with.

Not by chance, around these parts, 'trendy' pedals usually are also 'very good'.
No problem with a trendy board.

Yeah I thought trendy boards were on TGP. Has to have a Klon, a KOT, several Cornish pedals, a Tim followed by a stereo wet. Oh and being fond of Jeebus helps.

I've found there to be "trendy pedals" within every gear forum where numerous individuals with similar leanings congregate. Especially where manufacturers maintain a presence or are hosted with their own subforums, it's natural to support your own.
It's just nature of the beast (humans), to surround themselves with likeminded individuals...whether the group has tunnel vision in trying to nail down a particular sound or search for virgin ground & go experimental with little pretext...and everything between.
Parallel thinking, groupthink, homogenous whatever. It's phenomena that extends far beyond the gear implications. Monkey see, monkey do whether conscious or not. In the microcosms of society that are internet forums, one doesn't need to look far to spot [it]. Some forums emphasize form (and conformity) over function and image more than others...standards...1upsmanship and so on. I'd say ILF is the anti-TGP in many respects, but the 2 are probably more alike than different...sans median user age. I def don't mean to talk down my nose about not wanting to use the "popular" dirt pedals here (or there as it were).

And yeah, I've always been an outsider among contemporaries; who typically doesn't identify with groups.
Individuals within the group...that's another story. But....ILF. I do identify with that I just don't want to be using the same gear as everyone else when there are so many other options available. Luckily my preferences seem to naturally lead me in other directions...off the beaten path and back; in search of abandoned routes which I can stroll down with funny Pythonesque walks...where I have weirder idiosyncrasies to deal with

Baritone gazing last night. Tuned to a baritone version of aen standard. Really loving the echo dream set for a sligh breakup and reaming it with more angry fuzz.

I've always wanted a Hyper Fuzz. How do you like it?

It is my weapon of choice on bass. Nothing else really quite like it, perfect for that psychedelic buzzsaw sound. On guitar it's like a wall of rusty nails.
