Also, this is the not-so unofficial call for merch and things. I can pick up some stuff for some people, for sure, but I need to know what you want and how many of you there are. Also -- I'm gonna be there, Jfrey's gonna be there, Bigchief,The Ryan Summit, and dunwichnick -- we should at least all buy a beer together, yes?
Well... maybe a root beer for Nick.

Yup and they are the same night and stage as Ufomammut. So I will 100% definitely be at that night (Thursday, was Ottobar now at Sound Stage.).
Perhaps a ginger beer. We have options.
Wow. Ok. When do tickets go on sale?

They aren't playing thursday, those bands are listed as Friday through Sunday with no confirmed day or time yet so they might not all be on the same stage on the same night. But they should be.

Options are good.
Friday, September 5th at 3pm according to their facebook.
Just noticed Antigama is playing

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Thanks for the support lads! I used my millions to buy four pairs of pants, three records, a bottle of Trans Tint dye, some Profin, a down payment on the Prince amp and paid the outstanding vig to Seattle City Light. The amp is going to be baby blue with all black hardware and a silver grille cloth front with black piping. It'll look almost as good as it sounds. All three of the records are items I've never owned on wax but have wanted to for over 20 years. They are South of Heaven by Slayer, Locust Abortion Technician by Butthole Surfers and Super Ape by The Upsetters. I've had multiple copies of both Super Ape and South of Heaven on CD get stolen over the years and I currently have neither so it feels extra good to give those two a spin.
I can't even wait for Saturday. First of all I miss you John! Secondly, if you had a time machine and could go back to '88 and tell a 16 year old D-Day that he was going to share a stage with CoC in any capacity one day in the future I'd have had a heart attack and died and there'd be no AW. I don't seem to care much about them any more but when I was 16 I went around drawing their little mascot dude on everything. Honestly Lord Dying is the best part of this show for me. They fucking RULE. I met the new drummer a few months ago but I haven't seen him crush it yet.
I hate to admit this (especially here) but I don't get into 'stereo rigs'. I've run two heads at the same time (OR120 and JCM800) and found it unnecessary. And most of the time when I see dudes out with their stereo rigs there's just nothing "stereo" about them. One time Floating Goat played here and dude had two half stacks on either side of the stage and used a stereo delay where I could actually tell it was STEREO. Other than that it's almost always just alot of amps. AW sounds great and is plenty loud so the only thing my newfound wealth (HA!) will change about my stage rig is to knock the Catalinbread off my board and replace it with Mr Black. I hope I expressed my stance without coming off like a big jerk. Many around here seem to think if you don't have multiple heads you're half assing it and I just don't agree.
Let me break off a billion or two and you can get all gold choppers in there. Pure class! As far as the future of EH goes I'm about to get lynched by gangs of unruly Seattle bass players if I don't get this bass fuzz out pronto. From what I'm told it's a really good one.

that shit is so awesome! i can't believe that actually happened at all. you certainly deserve it. i hope this gives a little boost to electric heat along with whatever else you do with it. i'd love to see you get a little more ground with the ape blaster and maybe get one of your other designs further down the line. the world needs to hear what your ears hear. either way that is an unbelievable dream and i'm so stoked for you.
in other news, i think i broke a little bit off of one of my front teeth on the mic at our show tonight. boo!

D, I don't think you are capable of coming off as "jerky". I agree in the pointlessness of running stereo with two identical sounding amps. That's just louder. I get into it for the difference in the amps blending together. So I have that sunn/bass cab=low end, The JCM800 clone/4x12 as midrange, and the Simms/2x2x12's as the high end. They all naturally want to produce those frequency's so why not use it and eq with volume.
Fucking rad how many killer shows you guys are getting.
"bass fuzz" I am intrigued.

as much as it's sacrilege to utter these words around here, i kind of agree with you. i do actually like stereo rigs. i enjoyed having one for a while and may give it another go sometime, but i actually think druden sounds better since i've scaled back to one head. i felt like with two dirt chains my guitar sounded awesome and huge by itself, but with the band i don't think it was helping much. in fact, i think, and others have told me, that one of the good qualities of our sound these days is that eric and i each have a distinct and separate tone and that each guitar occupies it's own sonic space and that we can dial it to compliment each other really well. when i was running two heads i think it kind of muddied the water in that regard. and, i really hope no one beats me up for saying this, the extra wattage wasn't really something we needed or were utilizing. we are quite a loud band as it is. i wouldn't want to be any quieter, but i think things are fine how they are right now.
if i was the only guitar player in a band, i would definitely be trying to go stereo again, or maybe if we were doing something a bit different musically than what i'm doing now i'd feel differently.

This is a great point as well. I'm the only guitarist so I'm trying to fill as much sonic space as possible without stepping on the bass to harshly. We've been working in a second guitarist the last week or so and I think I'll cut down the amps I run while we're doing the 2 guitar thing. I was letting him use the verellen the first couple times we got together and that sounded great, he just picked up a marshall stack and the last time he used that and I used all 3 of mine again and it was to muddy imo.

Can I please have a protopipe NASA patch! I'll fix you up over paypal?
