It's a Noise Ensemble- aka a PT2399 chip being mangled into a crazy fuzzy/distorted pitch shifting/warbly/chorused/doubled-effect type thing. It's loud, and trashy, and nuts. I added a rotary switch- the one with all the N's around it, it selects different feedback modes. Right now I just have the infinity knob on the top left hooked up, it's a 500k pot that connects the input to the output and puts some resistance in there so you can control the level of feedback. I'm going to add another footswitch (momentary) and make that the second rotary mode for momentary feedback bursts!

oh, sweet! i was planning to build one of those but its a pain to order parts so i keep putting it off.
would love to hear some sounds once the momentary feedback is going, that sounds like a ton of fun.

I could put together a kit for you if you'd like. I'm about to build one as a gift for someone else already anyway. Just pay cost of parts/shipping and I'll take care of the rest. No worries if not.

So I took this for my instagram/tumblr because I was feeling all arty and shit but but when I was googling "what is better rat muff or muff rat" I read this thing on buffered pedals before and after fuzz - so I stuck my TU-2 AFTER my fuzz for a change..... I don't hear shit in terms of difference!! Is there any legit benefit? :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk: :idk: I was using my tiny little practice amp so I'm going to try this weekend at my jam space, but is this like... a thing? You know what I'm sayin'?

Depends on the fuzz. Tonebenders and Fuzz Faces can sound weird with buffers

Yep
I haven't noticed a different with my muffs or TAFM but I did with my dirt commander :idk: seems to be just different circuits do it differently

I had this old wooden pedal board that I put together years ago sitting around. Cut it in half a few weeks ago, and tonight made it into two tiers.
Just need to add some back bracing and we will be in business, but in the meantime I got it loaded up.
Not entirely sold on the Big Spider where it is. I'd honestly like to have a pitch shifter in it's place.

The chain:

DOD Edge (later replaced with a Rangemaster-style boost later in the night) -> Verellen Big Spider -> Montreal Assembly WSoU -> Way Huge Aqua Puss -> Zvex Sonar -> Way Huge Fat Sandwich -> Digitech MultiPlay 20/20 -> BitQuest (filter setting, with expression wheel between WSOU and Aqua Puss) -> MXR Carbon Copy -> TC Hall of Fame Mini. Second output of Multiplay goes to tuner.

Happy with the Carbon Copy? Recently started using mine again as well, had kind of missed it I realize now.

The newer TAFM has a switchable buffer already in the circuit, so thats probably why you didnt hear much difference :thumb:

In addition, buffers before a fuzz can affect how your volume knob affects fuzz. Ive noticed that some fuzzes dont really "clean up" as much with a buffer in front, especially with octave fuzz in my experience.

I dig it dude. For a delay that you can go into any GC and buy, it sounds pretty great. I'm using it with the modulation on for really ambient type repeats, and then the Aqua Puss is before the Fat Sandwich for more oscillating/shorter repeats!

That too! Especially since buffers are really just unity boosters. Think of it this way- you might be rolling your volume down, but it's still being sent along through the buffer

You should really get rid of that pee pad, it soaks up tone.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!
