So...in other news...got confirmed recently...I HAVE BABY NUMBER 2 ON THE WAY!!! :!!!: :!!!: :!!!:
I still have till November to make use of my limited time until that completely disappears...but really stocked.

Congrats duder!

That headstock is kinda cheeseball, but I like the looks of the rest of it. Schecter makes some good stuff.

thank guys...and yes...2 kids is where we are stopping! we had to squeeze the second one out before my wife and I turn 40...otherwise, besides getting too old, there's also all the complications with a woman over 40.

but what it also means is that our move back to Oz is becoming a reality...so i have to stop buying new gear and work out what i want to move back to Oz and what i will sell, otherwise shipping costs are going to be a bitch!

Ax...that double neck looks beautiful. I know on closer inspection you say there are some faults, but from the pic, it looks the biz.

Opeth...like i said...in my eyes they can do no wrong...however, for me there are 2 Opeth's...one was before Heritage, and another after Heritage. I dont mix the two or think of them as the same band...but i like both. To date, they are also the band that i have seen the most times and they smash it live.

The Schecter Bass...i kinda like the headstock. It looks dated and a bit gimmicky...but given the rest of the guitar is standard shapes, the little difference in the headstock is cool. But given its a Schecter, i bet it weighs a fuckin tonne!

Go Sam!!!
Congrats mate!
Re moving back here: If you paid reasonable prices for your gear over there, ship it back here with the stuff you need to send back anyway. Gear prices here are still retarded and the dollar hasn't dropped quite enough that the old buy it from OS and pay the postage gods the moolah is not quite redundant yet.
If you love your heads and guits, I'd say keep em honestly.

Also, I love prog Opeth.
Heritage is fucking sweet.
It ain't no Orchid or Blackwater Park, but its awesome in its own right.

If I haven't ogled your doubleneck yet, Ax, I got a whole bunch of drool coming your way.

i know man...i was looking at prices and it would make sense to bring back the cream of the crop...i would definitely bring back the guitars and pedals...as far as amps go, depending on how much it would cost i would either bring back both heads or just the Marshall...but no cabs. Cab prices seem ok over there, compared to shipping.

its funny though...looking at prices over there, Laney prices seem to be quite good whereas Orange, Marshall et all are all astronomical!

If i get any extra cash, I'm thinking of getting a Matamp GT1 and having the whole experience of actually going to the factory etc...as i know if i wanted to get that in Oz, it would be neigh impossible!

Yeah, ain't no builders like the Matias Co. down here. Would definitely be worth it I think.
If you just keep the shit you really love you may as well. No sense in trying to replace down here and going out of pocket to do so.
Laneys are still reasonable, but lately I've seen prices start to rise ($700AU and up for AORs) If you can pick up a JCM 800 for under $1200 used, you're doin pretty fuucking good. Fuck Oranges, even second hand. I dig em, but they're just so stupid expensive.
Cabs I write off. I know they'll be bullshit expensive compared to OS prices, so I just suck it up and concede, that's what they cost.
One day, I am gonna get set up and learn how to build my own properly, bring some of the cost down. Then its just a matter of sourcing speakers in a manner that keeps prices down.
Also known as: Mission Fucking Impossible.
Summits my hookup there though.
That guy is solid like granite.

I actually don't mind the headstock all that much, its not a bad looking bass at all. But you say its made to tune to BEAD, whats the scale length on that beast?

So, about 100 pages ago I mentioned something about buying a Laney AOR "200". I've decided to keep it for now, but I need to figure out the cabinet situation. Obviously, more speakers is better, but I'm tight on space currently. Any thoughts on things to be on the look out for?
