Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
Thanks all! Was interesting to do that shootout. They're all similar, but so different
Dope Priest is nice! The Dirge Muff is a modded Violet Rams head with a few Civil War specs, and comparing the two together was interesting. The sweep of the tone control is preeeety much the same. The Dope Priest is overall smoother than the one that I built, and the one I built sounds a little raunchier/unkept. To my surprise the Dope Priest had the least amount of gain out of the bunch, but only by a little bit. It might have been the smoothness as well that played down the gain
Love this board! Nice, simple, to the point, and I'm sure the toanz are great. I'd rock the hell out of it!
HorseyBoy wrote:^ That's some serious Muffage right there, skullservant. Considering getting rid of my SUF Violet Ram's Head and going for a Dope Priest. All the clips I've heard sound amazingly good.

Long time lurker here. I might still have an old account from ages ago, but I figured a pic of my current board might be an okay ice breaker to re-introduce myself...

That's taken before I cleaned up the wiring, but it still looks appropriately messy:)
I'm still on the fence about a couple of my other fuzz peds that didn't make the cut: Swollen Pickle MKII, FZ-3, or my incomin' Mojo Hand Crosstown fuzz. Decisions decisions...:s

Re: Let's see your PEDAL BOARD!
It's nice man, really nice. I was quite surprised when I realized how tiny the body was, but I'm liking it a lot, it's comfortable.
I might eventually swap the knobs for some more round rollers, but I don't really mess with the volume and I never use the tone to really super consider it, plus I like how those hexagons look.
I think part of the comfort that it has is how little it weighs, it's definitely as light as or lighter than my pine Telecaster.
The pickups are nice. They kind of remind me of a cross between a strat single coil, a P90, and a humbucker. I'm going to tinker around with the hight of both of them a bit, but they played well with the muffs last night.
The neck profile is also really comfortable- not as thin as my MIM Telecaster neck, but not quite as thick as the MIM strat neck I have on my Telemaster.
I put a recycled set of strings on it really quick last night before I played around with it, I'm going to get some fresh strings for it tonight or on Friday and really dive in with it.
No real neck dive that I noticed, nice action as well. I think I'm going to get some Lemon Seed Oil and give the fretboard a little bit of love.
All in all it feels solid. There are a bunch of little quirky details in it that I enjoy, like the gold on the pickups being panted so that it can gradually be worn away, the openback tuners, the aluminum pickguard.
It was definitely an on the whim decision to pick it up, but I don't regret it. It's completely different from any other guitar I currently have, and a nice contrast as well.
Gonna be gigging with it this weekend, so it'll be put to the true test then, I think!

I've been on here for a while but never posted my board. Sorry for the shitty quality and the foot.

Feet in photos is always cool.
Univalve is the only one who really has a problem with it.
Thanks man! The colour coordination has been purely by chance up until recently....I now want to build a board that is only black and chrome/steel/silver.
Thanks man. I am getting some really killer toanz out of it. Super happy with my setup, pedal-wise, right now.
I am gonna hit you up for that looper sometime soon, though!
Just to get that functionality happening.
