8ohm?
the randall 300 head is kinda made for 2
so i lucked out with the wiring on that peavey

from the user manual
8ohm 120w
4ohm 200w
2ohm 338w

Yes it is.

Just an FYI 2.9 ohms is not 2 ohms, i believe its actually 1.6 ohms or something close to that, your actually closer to 4ohms. Also your running a SS head so you don't have to worry about frying anything, it just makes more power witht he lower the rating.

now im even more confused
the plate says 3ohm
put the multimeter on says 2.9
but its really 1.6?
oy vey
yeah the manual says just not lower than 8
lower meaning higher?16?
some dude has a head like mine says he gets 450w
its loud
it sounds menacing
numbers can all go fuck themselves in the math house

Randomly searching semi-nearby craigslist ad's today looking for a front person for the new band, randomly found the perfect candidate. Hit them up and sent them a demo and their totally interested.

They're 4 hours away but interested in telecommuting as far as writing material and jamming to our tracks then meeting up for rehearsals for recording and gigging. :yay:

A 2ohm tap on an amp is actually rated for around 1.5ohm, they round it up to 2 for layman who might get confused with decimals. This is about speakers but might help clarify what I'm saying:

a 4 ohm speaker will typically measure about 2.5 - 3 ohms, and an 8 ohm speaker will typically read about 5-6 ohms, while a 16 ohm speaker will measure around 12 ohms.

So your 2.9ohm actual reading on the cab, means its actually a 4ohm "rated" cab. They switched all the "ratings" in the 70's I believe.

I might ust be talking out of my ass with misread info though. :idk:
