Meeeee toooo. Just didn't float ma goat.
But Cave In for the most part is tits. Zozobra is fucking great too. Almost everything that Scofield/Turner/Newton touch is sonic gold to my ears. But I really dig a lot of Deathwish and Hydra Head stuff so I may be biased.

I don't know if you have seen in but if you haven't I suggest everyone check it out: Blood Sweat and Vinyl. It is a neat documentary about some "underground" music and covers bands like Isis, Cave-In, Neurosis, Godspeed, etc. The section covering cave-in is neat. They show how they got picked up to go onto a major label but the major label wanted them to write some pop songs so they did. But then their music didnt skyrocket into the main stream as the label wanted them to so they got dropped. But the guy explaining what happened says that thats how cave-in rolls, they can change up how they do their music and still make great music.
And palms isn't bad, just not exceptionally awesome. None of the songs are horrible, just not mind blowing either.

You and I also share incredibly similar musical tastes, so we may both be biased.

That's pretty much where I'm at with that record. You can't go in expecting ISIS, that's for sure. Maybe people who are already big Chino fans would appreciate it more. I haven't spent any time with the other ISIS-adjacent bands, though, so I think there's some OMG in my future for this evening.

Fair point. Part of my problem is that I'm rather picky when it comes to vocals.

The other really awesome doc I wish I could get my hands on is Slow Southern Steel. Basically all about the sludge/doom stuff that is coming out of the south. I think it was made by a guy in Rwake. I go to see it when they were on "tour." They showed the movie then had a show with Zoroaster and Hail Hornet. I don't they have released the movie to the public though.
