I want to like it, especially with that cover art (THAT COVER ART) but I can't.

been bumming pretty hard because i had been jamming with a coworker for about a year and we had 6-8 songs written and i got promoted about a month ago. now i'm his boss so we can't make music together anymore. pretty shitty. .
whats all this about?
you cant jam cause youre his boss now?
what gives?
I write his schedule. Decide what he does during his day at work. I will have direct effect on promotions, etc.
If we're in a band together people will think that I'm going to play favorites. It's not true. If anything I'll be forever harder on his ass but that's just the way it works out, sadly.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
That really fucking sucks^
Glad that everyone I worked with I usually ran off because I'm a hard ass in writing and recording.
I love some HM2 love, I have one of the japanese made ones instead of the taiwanese ones that seem more spotty in their sound. I specifically started a swedish death metal band just to use it. Basically a mix of Moondark and Torture Division. the Behringer I thought sounded pretty decent, it's a good alternative if you don't have the funds to get the hm2 or just can't find one.
and don't let that phase just pass on playing some osdm, embrace it and grind out some tracks. Hell I'll drum for it, I can't seem to get a full band around here to play some crushing death metal which is why I end up just doing it all myself.

Even though I can't wait to get my Dunwich Cthulhu fuzz, I kinda wish I also ordered a Modded HM-2. Although it would have been hard to justify $400 on pedals. Maybe next batch.

The way I see it, if you can afford it then do it. You don't live forever and if all your normal bills are paid it's all good.

I'm glad I already paid up on my Dunwich stockpile. Already had a Wizard and Cthulhu fuzz, did the preorder for the Volt Thrower and modded HM-2 and traded my LP to Nick for the 300W head build. I'm on total financial lockdown now for the foreseeable future.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Thing is I'm self-employed. I have good months and bad months. When Nick opened up the pre-order I was having a good month so I treated myself, but I didn't want to go crazy in case of a slow month or two.
If the Cthulhu Fuzz works out like I hope, I'm probably gonna put up my BAT Ritual and Way Huge Swollen Pickle for sale, since the Cthulhu will probably be covering my need for those others.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Totally understandable. It's kinda like that with what I actually use to pay for all the gear and my cd releases. I actually fund that with the money I make off my paintings. I've been doing it for awhile so I just have been stackin it up so when something comes up I want I go on and get it. My regular job pays for all my normal needs including regular throwaway shit like going out to eat or buying up cds and vinyl from bands.
Right now I've been getting a ton more commission work than I have been in the last couple of years so I'm going to opt for a couple of more high dollar builds. Oh and I'll be going out of town for work so that usually means a ton more overtime for me to throw in my savings for the next thing I want to get.

So on the HM2...does the Taiwan vs Japan thing really make a diff or is it some kind or cork sniffing elitism?
Just looked on ebay and a few Taiwan ones for ok money.

a bit of the cork sniffing elitism. and a tiny bit of the taiwan ones seem to not be as consistent in their sounds from one to the other. Something you seem to notice more if you have more than one hm2 to play next to each other. Thanks for checking out my shit!

What kind of circuit is it descended from?
