and what's up with that when you listen to powerviolence means you can't listen to anything else? I guess there is something wrong with me since I actively write/record/and perform in 2 pv bands.

Anyway Soilent Green is one of the main reasons why I started buying up Ampeg SS150's and 140's so much. I love that tone.

I just kind of lost interest in all the grindcore bands when I got into powerviolence, since the Slap A Ham stuff was much more in line with, uh, my cultural sensibilities and such while being more or less the same kind of music.

Links to yer bands? I assume they're in your sig but I don't know which ones are which.

Also, this is my favorite 7" of all time:

Thanks duder.

But I'm not tuning to E, so the tension is going to be pretty different. I'm just trying to minimize the amount of money I have to spend on experimenting with different gauges.

Fo' Sho', maybe shoot LaBella or Circle K an email? They seem to be the biggest VI string providers.

Also, what's the story behind that tuning? It's Octave G's on top of a the middle of Curtis Mayfield's Black Keys?

Fair enough. I just get curious about how some people thoughts on things. Here are my bands, hell this is a link of them doing a split because I can do that.

http://speedritualrecords.bandcamp.com/ ... er-despair
https://kamikazepilot.bandcamp.com/albu ... -despair-2

Dragunov I play guitar and vocals. My friend plays drums. We actually go out and play live and all that.

Kamikaze Pilots is all me, all drumming is single foot action. I wanted to do something without a single ounce of double bass.

Quick question for anyone who owns physical copies of Yob's stuff (specifically Atma), does anyone know if Scott Kelly has provided guest vocals for any of Yob's songs? I feel like I can hear him here:

But I'm not sure, Mike may just have his voice down to a science.

Yeah Scott Kelly's on Before We Dreamed of Two. He also plays 'Doom Percussion' on Adrift in the Ocean.

Also Shaolin that stuff is rad. Digging Kamikazi Pilots a whole lot.

Thanks! I appreciate you checking it out. I'm currently piecing together another full length for KP right now. It's been kinda slow since I got involved in recording some other ideas haha.

And sweet whiskey... that's what you need that extra push to cave in your chest. That's how I know a cab is good. I can feel that air pushing.

Whisk, that gk4412h cab I have does exactly what you are saying you want. I have noticed it gets a lot more of the low end power feel with the 1200s pushing it as opposed to the verellen 2203 or sims watts. the sunn has a bit more oomph and is voiced darker. Hard to find but I would be glad to take measurements of mine if you wanted to build one. I would imagine the roland 412 fh someone just picked up in the rig thread would produce a similar thing. I'm guessing you are wanting to not use the earthquake cabs as part of your main rig?

I was initially tuning a standard scale guitar GGCFAD, but when we put it under the microscope of recording the shitty intonation and tuning stability was really obvious.

For sure, the single bass drum is fucking awesome -- I don't know why more fast bands don't do that.
