Yeah I was at a bar a couple weeks ago in NYC and saw that. At first, I thought it was a real cig bc it smelled just like one. The chick was puffing away like she was hot stuff. Yeah, no.
I see it in Jersey once in awhile too. I guess e-cigs can serve their purpose, but don't smoke it in the bar like it makes you cool or something

I ordered a set of Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickups. The plan is to drop them in my Epiphone G-400 since the stock pups just aren't cutting it for me anymore. Should be interesting.

Their awesome! I have them in my monson and love them. Just don't expect the bridge pickup to be uber clean sounding they have a lil hair on em if you pick hard like I do.
So beer guys, while getting gas at lunch I noticed the Gas Station carried Bell's beers, the only place in the area. They had Oberon, Double Heart or something like that and one with a Dandelion on it. I got a party tomorrow for a fallen friends birthday and was thinking of picking up a sixer, which do you guys recommend? I'm usually a cider or belgian white drinker.

interested to hear your thoughts on it...i was thinking about getting those for the Iceman
pelliott wrote:Yeah Epiphone stock pickups are just so muddy, it's probably gonna be a world of difference.
I needed a neck pickup to match with a replacement bridge pickup and I took one of those muddy, cheap pickups, pulled the metal cover off and scraped away most of the wax. Used my fingernails so I didn't damage the coils. It got brighter and more usable for sure.
Not as amazing as replacing your pickups but free as long as you have a free hour or so. The finicky part is getting rid of the solder joint that holds the cover on.

They're very dynamic pickups that can clean up easily with the volume knob or light picking but can get hairy and gritty if you dig in hard. Tonally they are very mids and bass heavy with just the right amount of top end bite. They are definitely not scooped sounding like you would think a "black metal" pickup would be, quite the opposite actually. The neck pickup is nice and full and sounds amazing for solos and lead lines but can get a lil too thick for chords under a huge amount of gain. The bridge pickup has great clarity even when playing complex chords under insane gain, it definitely has alot of cut for faster work but also has alot of sustain which is great for slower riffs. Overall I'm very impressed with them and they curbed my BKP GAS for about half the price.

Two Hearted is an IPA, but it's one of the best you'll find. I'd recommend Oberon since it's probably the closest to a Belgian style you're used to but it's absolutely sucked the last few years. I think the Smitten Golden Rye will be unique. It's gonna be a little hoppy, but the rye will add a nice spiciness and overall should be nice and crisp.
just put down a fatty subway footlong and 2 pbr tallboys
I tried to get into the whole craft beer thing but theres SO many good ones and just as many bad ones. and when you can buy a 6 pack of craft for 16.99$ or a 30 pack of pbrs, well, that's an easy decision.
as far as cigs when I smoked it was camel 99s or lucky strikes. when I smoked cheeb it was ALWAYS joints. when I was younger in phoenix, you could be put in prison for paraphilia possession so joints it was. my fingers always wreaked of cheeb and were green, but TRY to find that pipe flatfoot I dare you.
now I don't smoke anything, I just drink. . . .
good deals with Noise. . .guitmatt, magiclawnchair, delaydecay, Fuzz_Pi, nixhex113, theAntihero, Ancient Astronaught, bigchiefbc, jwojtysiak, neonblack, osbornkt
I used to only drink whiskey, now I don't really drink. I might have one occasionally if someone offers to buy one in the interest of not being rude but I rarely even finish it.
When it comes to drinking I'll occasionally have some craft stouts or IPAs but usually it's Hamms and whiskey.
Just started smoking cigs again and I always go for Spirit Menthols as they are just easier on my throat.
With weed I'll use lots a shit. We've got a couple bongs, pinchies, bowls, and I've got a tabletop and pocket vape that really come in handy, I like mixing it up. Also besides weed I really just like LSD, shits the best.
I have been avoiding pickup swapping for the longest time because I am worried about the time and expense and then it could be as simple as not liking those particular pups in that particular guitar. I used to be fine with the Epi pups but since getting other guitars, the difference is noticeable. I've thought about selling or trading in the Epi but the re-sale value is not very high and it's a good playing guitar with some sentimental value as well. I figure if I'm gonna hold on to it I might as well upgrade it. I did a lot of research into pickups and I'm fairly optimistic about Black Winter. If it doesn't work out I will be disappointed. I decided against cheaper pups because I would be less confident that I would be happy with them.

Thanks guys. It's just weird sometimes cause of the same situations described of being offered one or the other after playing or jamming. I don't have a problem with other people doing it unless if they came to my shed to jam. Drink all they want but I don't want anything else around since there are other people who come into the unit. Hell my cellmates across the hall smoke all the time but I try to make sure I'm not there when they are. I just want to vomit at the smell and if they come there while I'm doing stuff they at least try to wait till I'm gone before they start up.
