Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Actually, I'm getting a hyperfuzz through trade with backwardsvoyager, and I'm really stoked about it.
Also picked up a microvibe at a decent price, so I'm really looking forward to getting my syrupy fuzz-swirl on. :doom:

niiiiice score on the de7, dude.

I don't think I would turn down most pedals at $5.

I have the strymon and it is awesome, but also fucking expensive. It will cover you for the rest of your life but unless you are obsessed with reverb it may not be the way to go. I also have a sueprmoon chrome and I really like it. Really deep and the modulation is nice too. I used to have it at the end of my chain but when i got the big sky I moved it up front of the dirt to get the washy sound. The supermoon also goes 100% wet so if you run it out front you can kill pick attack and get that shoegaze tone with fuzz.

And misterstomach, cool scores, especially at such a low price. I'm using an old 70s technic direct drive I got off ebay for cheap. No crazy options on it, but I put a new needle on it and it sounds great. Smooth and reliable. It makes me wonder about the tables that cost a lot more but I'm happy how it sounds, so why waste the money.

ive never had an amp with it built in, or a pedlol. just makes me wonder what stacking verbs would do for the heavies. or a subtle verb? I dunno... nothing I won has an effects loop should've it go there? >>>noob alert<<<

i don't have an effects loop either. if you don't use amp dirt too heavily, which i don't, you can just put it at the end of the chain if you want to achieve standard reverb sounds, i.e., add some richness and dimensional character to your tone without sacrificing much in the way of clarity. which is how i use it. the attack control really helps get a clear attack when using heavy gain and letting the reverb bloom just a hair later. other verbs i've tried tend to get a little lost with high gain, so that by the time you've turned it up enough to notice the reverb at all, it's way to much and sounds metallic and wayyy over done for heavy music. with the ghost echo, i'm able to dial in a variety of reverb levels that are useful under high gain. it still is a little more lost than it is with clean tones, but i like that. i can have a pretty verbed out clean tone and a bit more subtle and useable verb on the dirt, so i can play fast and it still sounds good, without having to change anything.

common practice is after your main dirt, usually last in the chain, which is why a loop is often important to folks using amp dirt. of course, you can swap it around to different spots in the chain to experiment with different results. i also have an earthquake disaster transport delay and i must say, the interact really nicely. most reverbs and delays get along great, but those two are really cool, and both good at high gain.

Awesome man! that is such an incredible setup. The only way I could think to improve it is add another head for just the 18. I got a chuckle from reading some of the comments, esp the semi elaborate argument against the type of insanity we seem to share. Your 3 word retort was perfect  "because I can" :thumb:

I so need to replace the crappy one the wife bought. I had been against getting one as I knew it would turn into a rabbits hole of me spending money on vinyl. She knew I wanted one but wasn't going to buy one for this reason. Bless her evil blackened little heart, she went out and bought one. Unfortunately she's no audiophile. So it's a cheapy modern multi function not very good sounding pos. I need to start hitting garage sales and find something decent.

Are there any Maeth fans in the house? I haven't been able to get enough of this band since finding them recently

someone was askin about smallstone volume issues
just did a little a/b of the v4 and black russian
the ruskie has zero vol drop/tone suck issues
the issue with the v4 isnt a volume loss
it cuts the high frequencies in most of the sweep
so the higher you play on the neck, the more the loss
so if your there when you switch it theres a drop
if you just ride the low string it doesnt change
im guessin the mod fixes that
the russian is more aggressive to my ears
really changes the sound through the cycle
the v4 isnt as sharp
kinda works better for what i use it for
its on alot on the low end of my rig
but if you were just gonna use it sparingly for real phased out quickies
definately the russian is the way to go
and a bonus during this scientific test
TWO STACKED SMALLSTONES
knobs dimed, color switches on:might as well be drums
if my amp was cranked i woulda blown speakers
it sounds like someones tapping them with a screwdriver
one dimed one rolled off is really cool and psychadelic
just a note
the rate knobs at the same position are completely different speeds
12:oo on the russian is around 3:00 on the v4
again its the russians size that keeps it off my board
any questions go for it
ill leave them hooked up for a bit
can do a clip if theres any interest
