He's a guitarist for a couple of Heavy Metal bands, but is mostly known for his Youtube demos of high gain amps. I was heavily into that style five years ago, and although I wouldn't listen to it much any more, it's still quality shit. He's a very good player.

Apparently Orange is also coming out with a 1k watt bass amp too. Not too many examples of its sound but what seems cool about it is the built in blend section. You can mix in a dirty sound with the clean sound. I always like that for bass.

That actually looks pretty tasty...... looks like a step up from the terror bass 1000, I definitely like the preamp more.

Hahaha, not to your liking? I think it sounds ok in that clip but I would want to play around with it more to see if it actually sounds good.

Also found this rig run down. Ben talks about his signature guitar some in it.

Blew up my Matamp at the weekend, well, one of the output tubes and the HT fuse went. There was some sooty trace between two of the valve pins, so I'm thinking it might end up needing a new socket, hopefully there's no other issues in there. I don't think anything else fried, or at least I couldn't smell anything. So far I'm feeling fairly sanguine about it. At least until I get the tech bill...

Perfect time for the pedalboard I ordered to turn up...

I guess Orange wants to expand their offerings and capitalize on their currently popularity. I'm fine with that as long as they don't overextend themselves. Their amps aren't cheap and coming out with more and more top end ones that most people can't afford may or may not be the best business strategy. I don't know.

I would like to see more amps that someone like me could afford and have a use for. How about a Micro Terror version of the Dark Terror? Charge $200 USD. I would be all over that.

Nice looking board. What is the company? And it sounds like there was an arc between the valve pins. Might be a good idea to replace the socket as you said. But you might need to figure out what caused the arc.

The board was made a by a local guy here in NZ, "L8onboards". Pretty small business, he gets a run fabricated every few months.

Yeah, I'm hoping it's just the socket losing contact or something, the guy I'm sending it to knows his stuff though. I'm just guessing and crossing my fingers.

Our guitar player might be picking up one of the new OR100's. All the ones I've heard clips of online sound kinda scooped but I'm assuming that's due to how the EQ is set. Are they any good/nice? I told him to go for the custom shop 50 instead but we both agree that might not give us enough volume. Apparently he's dealing directly from orange through an inside person. I don't know. I just said to get a good deal so I can get one on the cheaps!
