I wasn't going to buy anything but then decided I'd like something to remember him by and settled on this (not actual guitar as it's too gloomy to take pics today).
It's an RG2570MZ CAB (Caribbean Blue Lagoon) and it's very nice
I'm really sorry about your friend.
That's a really cool looking guitar and it's so cool you have something he played to carry on his memory.
Preordered the new Boss Slicer. I was loving the old one with my analog pattern robots band a lot. So i'm really keen about the fact that you can make user patterns.
Also preordered that mascis ehx big muff. Just because mascis.
I'd rather spend my time making new patches for my Beebos.
. . . other than ordering some Lollars for the J Mascis Jazzmaster I'm swapping my Meteora for once my friend gets his car fixed - I sold it to him after putting the original pickups back in and selling the Lollars I had fitted and really liked, so I'd like to swap them out again.
Maybe a bridge pickup for an old Charvette which I'm constantly messing about with, and possibly a set of decent pickups for my Classic Vibe Tele.
Oh, and I might get myself a CB Thermae for Christmas.
Update: I just tried my Tele plugged into my second Katana 50w combo (which I've got set up for some gigs next year with just my old Vox Tonelab ST in front of it) and it sounds great, bright and zingy and perfectly Tele-like, so that's one purchase avoided.
I tried it into the second amp because my main recording set up lacks a little in top end, no doubt due to all the pedals the signal is running through and my obsession with keeping the output from it as quiet as possible.
Been long weeks with the kids, work, health, and family life.
I have been playing however ( Proud of that!) bits and chunks - my SG is my best friend so we are still hammering away.
My board however has been in the bag for a couple of weeks - long work hours and then putting the kids to bed means that at 8 pm I am about done. The only time I really get to plug in is when I have my weekly lesson with my guitar teacher - so I might pick up one of those none garbo head phone amps that you just plug in an put the headphones on and rock. I will still keep the board but might go down to the smaller size pedal train and then do something like Tuna - Ubershall, (insert wack fuzz) delay - cab M
I did however sneak down to thunder road guitars and play a Charvel Guthrie Grovan Signature.
Ho - Le - Fuck
everything as advertised - the jumbo frets were a little abrasive but to be fair I have spend the majority of playing on some nice warndown frets on a 1970's instrument - I feel that if I picked it up I could get used too it.
Guitar gas is at critical levels - It should be release around or after christmas time.

Pt nano+ is the way. I sort of passed through the same phase as you and that's the perfect size.
Also been curious about charvels for a while, but never got the chance play one. Now I'm even more curious.

I don't have a dedicated practice space and with staring at a computer screen for 8 hours a day - the though of going to something laptop based sounds revolting. I will still keep the large board but I am in still in wood-shed mode, anything to keep me playing and practicing is a good thing. I will probably break down the large board this week and go back to the smaller one.
The Guthrie Grovan is appealing in its versatility - he plays so many styles the guitar shows the though he put into crafting it which make it even cooler. I mean I can get a lot for the 2.5k I would spend on it but I already blew that amount on the SG ( was 1999.00) - Charvels are 80's super stratocaster machines - if your into that type of guitar I think you would love it, the neck and feel reminded me of my EVH bumble bee.

I still love the Carcosa. Loved it for $100 at launch. Loved it at $50 when DOD and Digitech inventory was getting hugely discounted. I would happily replace at full current retail if I had to. Great fuzz.
Given current retail pricing, I would also look at the Spiral Electric Demhe, the spiritual successor to the Carcosa, as well as seeing what deals might be happening on a used Black or Brute fuzz, both of which seem to have some Carcosa DNA. Stretches the budget, but I see a lot of gushing response to those.

Saw an Alesis Air Fx for sale but had never even hear of it. It looked interesting so I had to google it. Ended up buying it and yes it is a lot of fun! Gotta find a good place in my setup so that I can use it with an elbow or something (I operate everything by hand, no footwork involved).

I had the air synth about 20 years ago. I remember it being fun, but it's probably super dated in a not-so-good way now.
