Baby steps - I have to make sure I am playing music and that the program has a purpose - I mean I have reaper and garage band and it takes me a while to arm a fukkn track :picard:

Plugins tho - I was so plugin adverse but some of the stuff sounds great. I just hate the fact I cant physically twist a knob or plugging in a laptop for jamming. But those neural dsp plugins.

Oh yeah I might be over the soldano or the Fortin one.

Being a fan of SMG / Glen Frikker , he speaks highly of the the Bogren Amp Knob

https://bogrendigital.com/products/ampknob-revc

I mean there isnt a lot fuck around which forces you to play more - rather than twisting knobs. But lord almighty do I love just making nose with my instruments.

I also randomly want a megalith and so many things

GAS is wonderful

Oh and when I was watching Augfish Music who was hyping up Valliant Guitars out of Ukraine

https://valiantguitars.com/collections/guitars

Really cool stuff

I had been keeping my eye out for a Guild Starfire III, mostly because I like the band Garbage but also to have something cool besides my Strats.

Jokes aside, this was a bit of run-away GAS, but it felt good because I actually have a bit of inspiration for the first time in ages ages ages. Now lets hope the 1 euro reel-to-reel works decently

Incoming Earthquaker Devices tentacle. I am hoping that it doesn’t pick up a bunch of odd noises, my Henrietta engineering octoplus is great but it’s picking up an odd noise from somewhere in my chain.. the tru-Fi Octavia doesn’t but I’m not trilled with how it sits in my signal chain with all my other gain stuff… so I guess I’ll see…

Wooo! Definitely going to try to get it up and running with some tape, and see if it needs tubes. I feel like for 9kr, I’m not expecting wonders. But if I can make some sick reel-to-reel tape loops that stretch all across my apartment like an insane person, that would be perfect. Looking forward to make some music in any case

i dont think youd need to swap the tubes unless they have experienced trauma. old tubes are solid

Craigslist action too cheap for the $21 thread: Got a TC Prophet and a Ditto for $17. Still need a nicer delay pedal though.

After some play, the Prophet is way better than expected. Goes full wet for ambient adventures, which is (mostly) what separates the dope delays and reverbs from the blahs, and it does the glitchy breaky stutter stuff when you tweak the time, like a good clean digital delay should. Oscillation: check. Couldn't ask for a better mono cheapo, really. Generic doom graffix who cares, I like pretty much everything in this TC budget line. The Rusty Fuzz is what I was actually looking for when I stumbled across this ridiculousness, which I had to act quickly on.

It was the pedal that got me back into the guitar thing. I fired up a simple chain of White Light/Speccial Cranker/Hizumitas and plugged in my Brad Paisley Roadworn Telecaster, since my partner had mentioned I hadn't been playing it lately. I was shocked. Turns out a Tele with a Strat neck pickup is the perfect mid-90's alt-rock guitar if you give it enough dirt.
