Been a slow couple of weeks of playing but I have a board that I kind of want to try. I am really missing my EQD Dispatch Master, as wonderful as the Volante and the MCD70R are they are way too tweakable and too bloated in options for what I am trying to accomplish right now.

I also want to explore the Fuzzlord EQ pedal - great channel with a bunch of cool players ( all of them in Oregon) and I know that lead guitar player from Yob is good friends with the builder and has a few of his pedals on his board. I have a really nice collection of High Gain dirt and it seems like a good add to explore.

A BOSS RPH-10 Micro Rack Phaser unit is on the way to me ...

... and this dream synthesizer has arrived last month! With the original box and manual. A real beauty in this state!

The power supply board was dead, so I had to hunt down a replacement board of a KORG Trinity. The Z1 is alive again - and it sounds fantastic! :animal:

I already had the monophonic KORG Prophecy a few years ago and I really liked it. The Z1 is pretty much the same, but with a few more synthesis algorithms and 12 voices of polyphony.

It is just how I imagined it to be and it fills a gap in my instrument array!

It is, indeed! The Rhodes sounds are really convincing as well as the drawbar organ, strings, woodwind and brass instrument models. It is so much more than a common Virtual Analog synth like a Clavia Nord Lead, Alesis Ion or a Roland JP-8000. It is a totally underestimated beast, creating all the sounds that you expect from a powerful polyphonic analog synthesizer including OSC Sync, plus a lot more! It also features FM-like-synthesis that sounds like the classic DX7 sounds. Even some of the guitar model programs are neat, albeit not hyper-realistic. The mod wheels and the X/Y-pad are awesome for live tweaking as well as the other highlighted knobs on the left. It sounds so lively. I love it!

sounds even better, now, but tbhh it's been on my shortlist of synthGAS for a while now along with the Fizmo and a few others (none of them VAs, none of them easy to find) - congrats!

Yes, it is! The MOSS board was also developed to upgrade certain KORG synthesizers to make them some sort of a 6-voice polyphonic Z1 with the same 13 synthesis models.

From a German synthesizer website :

The TRITON also allows the expansion of a MOSS board. So basically the KORG Z1 in plug-in card format for retrofitting. As my AMAZONA colleague Max Lorenz already wrote in the KARMA test: “Anyone who buys a Trinity, Triton or Karma workstation WITHOUT MOSS – drives a FORMULA 1 car with a Smart motor." I can only agree with that. With a maximum of 6 voices, this board doesn't quite offer the polyphony of a KORG Z1 - but as a supplement for extraordinary synthesizer sounds within a workstation concept, it's perfectly adequate. If you want to know more about MOSS, please read the articles about KORG PROPHECY and KORG Z1 in the archive.
http://www.amazona.de/test-korg-triton- ... rkstation/

There is also an expensive special MOSS board to enhance the Z1 polyphony to 18. In the Multi Mode this would be very helpful, but so far it is not a necessity, although I play with a damper pedal. 12 voices are pretty good.

Been eyeballing Death By Audio stuff recently, specifically the Total Sonic Annihilation 2. Anyone have any experience using one? Feel like it would be just stupid amounts of fun to run my entire chain through one for moments of craziness.

Also seeing APTBS and they confirmed that they're selling pedals on tour, so if they have one there ill try and snag it. :zen:

Went to the guitar shop for an external footswitch for the Surfybear. Great purchase, as it means I can stash the bear elsewhere. Picked up the bare metal EQD Afterneath, since my partner has been jonesing for one for months. We both player Meteoras. I'm definitely getting the guitar and she's in love with the bass. Good times.

After my first wife wouldn't let me play guitar, even if she was out of the house, and my second wife considered naming my Strat to be adultery, I'm hanging onto this goodness. Matching guitar and bass is a little "Gimmick Surf Band" but I do appreciate the Meteora. The bass is so good I briefly turned into Mike Watt.
