I haven't had an amp for ages, and recently decided to sell my Le Clean tube preamp and Simplifier that I was using in place of an amp, and am now taking the plunge into Amp sims so I picked up this...

Amplitube 5 Max has an unreal amount of options in it, and I'm really looking forward to trying it all out!

My DBA Speed Tripper arrived last week. For the most part it's exactly what I wanted. The tones are on point. I just wish the blend control wasn't under the hood! That just doesn't make sense for a delay. It took me a while to dial in the right amount and I'm really happy with it, but I wish that control was on a knob. Especially for a pedal that cost $270 clams.

This is the same issue I had with the DBA/EQD Time Shadows but that pedal was only $199. No blend under the hood tho, you get what you get. Time Shadows also has a flexi-switch which is far superior to the Speed Tripper's noisy switch.

But those Speed Tripper tones.........soooooo good.

Thinking about guitars has me itching even though I cant get anything for myself until after christmas (except for my santee for teh pedge)

I saw that Dunnable was sold at Guitar Center but I will never ever shop there so I am looking at what is out in the market and I have noticed that there are a LOT of Gibson LP's in the market place - I could easily score a studio or classic for under 1k and pay half the price of something new.

But I have never owned an LP, however it does get muh juices flowing.

Never owned a V, nor a guitar with Lace pickups, and i've always been quite indifferent to "burst" finishes, I don't hate 'em but I don't drool over 'em either.
BUT.
Probably the fact that my interest in metal and such has been revamped since the beginning of 2021 has something to do with this impulsive decision, but this one caught my eye since it came out a few years back, and one appeared for sale nearby, and the price was right, and my birthday is 3 weeks from now so..

Back in the gold old ILF days, I remember when Brian first made these.

Speaking of old school, my lust for a sludgy as fuck fuzz persists - I have REALLY been missing my Mountain King Megalith and Dwarfcraft ECT - both are fucking rippers which I should have never flipped.

I also realize I have a lot of rad gear :snax: - new plan is to have my Jazz Bass and my EVH out and tucked away so I can get them at any time. I am really motivated to play 20 - 30 min a day with out fail - I have had my EVH out down stairs and just staring at it makes me want to pick it up. I have had a few random GAS attacks here and there and though of trading it in but its too fucking rad to give away ( good enough to be berried with Dimbag, good enough for me)

The new plan is to retune my EVH to E flat ( slayer and VH turning) and use it when I want to shred the gnar and then get two more guitars for riffing  - six instruments is the maximum I can get away with and I may have to hide the others.

and because I am turning 40 I may just blow the load and get a dunnable.
I imagine your Satan is taking note and working hard to destroy your porch ;) also, pro-tip --- get the dunnable. your are worth it!!!

I'm currently enjoying my purple Squier Jaguar while trying to resist buying an orange Squier Telecaster Custom.

There's a purple Tele too (and Strat and JM) but I like the orange with binding.

It is by a French builder. Fuzz and Reverb. And it has a foot switch labeled "event horizon". What can possibly go wrong?
So this is a modulated Reverb, a one knob fuzz and a (modulated) delay in one housing. The fuzz is on the darker side and kind of wooly. Reverb can give good seasickness. All sound on it own are good. The delay sounds very good, fuzz and delay is gorgeous and all three is quite spooky. Reminds me of my disaster transport what I used at the beginning of analog pattern robots. So I already played old apr stuff and got inspired to go into that direction again. Good pedal. Optics are fantastic and packaging was lovely. Will keep it.

love Wooly's swag

i liked the Sneak Attack more than i thought i was gonna when i borrowed it from lordgalvar, but i tended to use it more as a loopable envelope generator/lfo than as a swell machine :idk: i have it on my list to snag if a deal comes up....

the EHX has that one trick where it can trigger each new note without re-triggering the previous envelopes which makes it easier to play more in a natural polyphonic style than having to stick to mono-playing - for me it's the killer app. even though it's full digi and the Malekko doesn't molest yer analog base tone as much, it still sounds pretty good :snax:

it's operatin' on a comparatively higher level within its class than this new harmonizer jawn they're coming out with - just sayin'

It’s swell!
Super tweaky, really let’s you dial in to what you are trying to do, also this makes this a better studio/tabletop pedal unless you are only ever going to use it for one part/action. I do need to pull out my n@meless board and try it with all my moogers because I feel it would make synth sounds even better… no idea on the ehx or slow gear clones as I’ve never used any Of them
